Reception in and around Providence is no issue. Very few weak spots. On Hwy. 86 from Yanceyville up to the Va line is great too.

Bars of reception vary from 0 to 5... Even with 3 / 4 bars I do experience dropped calls -- often. I do think the actual phone has a lot to do with it all, but considering the phone I have now... I thought for sure the reception would be a lot better. Back in the day when I 1st got the Moto. Startak I didn't miss / lose any calls... (same location / s), but this V3 / my Alltel service does pick up great in the city / s. As far as outside of the city (from Danville to Yanceyville -- hwy 86) - tis usually a 50 / 50 shot...

Hwy. 86 Near Park Springs Rd., Providence, NC 27315 Wed Oct 05, 2005

Signal is weak-very weak through most of hwy 86 from the NC / VA line south to about 4 miles north of Yanceyville. Altell provides a majority of their service in Caswell County via a 400ft cell tower on County Home Rd. 2 miles northeast of Yanceyville.

Very poor reception, no bars at all, the best you can hope for is a txt msg. However, once you get out of this "dead-zone" and closer to yancyville / danville areas the signal strenght is greatly improved. Had Alltel last year and dropped calls / no signal was common once you ventured to far from Danville towards the Martinsville area.

I had basically no reception here although the phone company told me before I bought the phone that there was coverage there. Once I got into Danville the reception was fine
