For all you Cingular customers. The Motorola models v180, and v220. The Motorola V5?? models do a littel better. Most if not all samsungs, all are the worst phones for reception. if you live in a poor coverage area, your best bet is Nokia, and Sony. Blackberry's of course, get the best reception, with any provider. hope this helps?

Had Cingular for years now. Still no coverage at home, inside or out. The Nextel rep for the company I work for, says they have good covergar here. Sent me a map with my address in the middle. Contract with Cingular runs out in April. If still no decent service, will be switching to Nextel.

No coverage in majority of this large county. No bars on Hwy. Old 60. No signal on Purlear Rd. Intermittent, or none on Old 421. No coverage on Hwy. 16 NW of Millers Creek on Hwy. 16. No coverage Hwy. 18 N of Mulberry. No signal Hwy. 115 S, between Wilkesboro, and Statesville. No signal Hwy. 268 S in Ferguson. I could go on forever. If you don't live on an interstate, or in town, your out of luck with Cingular.

With all the homes, and new ones built constantly, you'd think Cingular would stick up a cell site. they are the only major carrier in the area. No Verizon, Sprint, Alltel, T-Mobile, Nextel, within Wilkes county. Cingular is the only one. And you'd think they'd cover more than Hwy. 421, to get the jump on the others, before they start covering the county.

It appears that NW North Carolina can expect little or no coverage from Cingular. With two little podunk local carrriers in the area, you would think Cingular would like to cover the area to take away their customers. Nextel is starting to move in Wilkes county. Let's see if Cingular thinks we're important enough for decemnt coverage, once Nextel starts coming through.

There is absolutely no service from north of Statesville, all the way to Wilkesboro on hwy 115. With as much traffic is on this road, it is amazing to me that there is no Cingular service whatsoever.
