Never really have any problems with Verizon's cell service. On a very rare occasion I'll drop a call, but it's probably once every few months. Verizon is pricey, but they really do have the best cell coverage.

Unlike other comments, I havent any problems with my Sprint service. I had a blackberry Curve until this year, and had no problems then. I now have the Evo. I live in Raleigh, right near Garner. I dont ever quite get 6 bars all the time.. It pretty much hovers between 4-5 bars. But no drop calls, no mumbled sound.. its nearly perfect.

Over 5 years with AT&T, got 4 lines, 1 with an iPhone, 2 Samsung and 1 Nokia. I have been very happy with their reception and customer service. My contract just ended so I was trying to find a cheaper alternative but after seeing what people said about Sprint, I am thinking to just stay with them and renew. I guess I will be keeping my iPhone. This iPhone thing is an amazing tool but it's a disease for people, especially kids. Don't ever buy an iPhone, iTouch or any type of smart phones for your kids, you will ruin them. It hypnotizes them, disconnects them from this world and takes them to an evil one. I mean, just look at the symbol of the company that makes the iPhone, JK. I am just talking about the bad apps kids can get for free.

i've had AT&T for just over a year now and have had no reception or data problems with their network in the north raleigh area (i-540 corridor). I think many of the problems that people report are hardware related. not all handsets are created equal and my Nokia or my wife's iphone 3gs have rarely encountered any service difficulties. when I travel to more rural parts of the state, granted the 3g coverage disappears but the edge network is reliable and calls are not lost.

I've been a T-Mobile customer for over four years, and my reception has been stellar in the Raleigh area. Additionally, I drive up and down I-95 on a regular basis and rarely see a single bar drop.

Alltel reception all over Raleigh and NCSU campus is great even inside basement level all brick buildings. Reception is great at home in Garner, HWY 50 area as well. Alltel seems to have pretty good customer service, although they are late getting new phones. Overall great company though.

Excellent reception on phone. It's always on full signal it seems like wherever I go around Raleigh. I've never dropped a call since I switched over to Alltel. The calls sound very clear too, but I don't know how much that has to do with the phone. Always stick to Motorola or Nokia. But even indoors, there's not a restaurant I've been or store I've set foot in where the signal even drops indoors to where I can't make a call. The grocery stores, every shopping center I go to, Wal-Mart, absolutely no problems anywhere and it's always on full signal. Even on full signal on my 1st floor apartment away from windows. Great coverage all around area here. The My Circle option is a good feature too. With the family plan I'm on with 2 lines I get 900 anytime minutes, free nights and weekends and mobile-to-mobile, and free My Circle for $69.99. Nobody else had anything close. And the coverage is perfect all through Raleigh and Cary. I would definitely recommend Alltel to others in this area and I'm pleased with the switch.
