We live near the edge of the reception area. Towers have been added recently and reception has gotten better. Very satisfied with signal and service.

I attend school in Walnut Cove, and NEVER have service! I recently started driving, and I sometimes have to pick up my sister, but I can't get calls to inform me on whether I should or not. I have to play a guessing game every day. And It doesn't get service for about 15 miles going to my house (Pinnacle). What if my car breaks down? I wouldn't be able to call anyone to inform them. AT&T really should fix this problem, because this is pathetic! They have the WORST service!

When it is (was) good, it was very good, but when it's bad, it sucks! HWY 772 has long been known as a 'dead zone' - even for law enforcement. We get intermittent reception at our house on a hill, but calls still drop or never get through. Dr.up N or S on 772 (or anywhere with trees) and forget it. As soon I change carriers it seems, they change contracts on towers, leaving me with no bars or roaming 100% - Sprint did this several years ago. Are we the red-headed step children because we are RURAL? I have offered up my property to 3 carriers to PLEASE put a tower here! But no - they stick on where the cows might get great service, but no humans! Is there ANY carrier out there that can HEAR ME NOW?!?!?!?

I can get better service deep in a parking garage in HP or W-S than I do here. Used to have Sprint since I worked in GSO, where it worked great. But at home, it was 100% roaming. When I was laid off I had to switch to Verizon (only game in this area) because with 100% roaming 100% of the time, Sprint was sure to terminate me. While they are non-existent in this area, buck for buck and feature for feature, Sprint wins hands down.
