Reception ONLY possible when outside. Same for reception near the hospital. Some days it's better, but recently (March 2011) my phone has said "no service" more often than not.

Below avg at best. Iphone has no service the farther east from Greenville, along 264 and 32, if going to the Outer Banks. Service non-existent near Washington Country Club as well. Service not that great in Greenville. Took my iphone to AT&T rep last wk. Safari working so poorly on the new 3Gs. She has old iphone and I have new model. Started Safari on both, at same time, guess what? Her older model loaded Safari as quick as my new model. Also said, many complaints in Greenville area about coverage. When cloudy, overcast, service is VERY poor..

Looking at the AT&T coverage map, I didn't think we'd get very good cell service, but once we moved here, we discovered it is almost seamless. Very pleased so far. However, the further east of Washington you go, almost no service is available by any carrier.

Do not get Sprint! Pick any other company! Nothing but dropped calls... poor reception when any of the 3 phones on the account work at all. WORST of all is calling Sprint, being on hold for hours, yes hours, being transferred to a dozen agents and still not having your problem resolved. Contacting the Board of Directors is the ONLY way to get issues resolved!

I have had Sprint for about 2 years now and the service has been average. Beaufort county over all does not have good phone service out of the city of Washington. But Sprint will roam on U.S. cell and any other provider in the area so it works every where. Sprint does need to put more of there own towers up. They already have Nextel towers up but no Sprint service on them. So in pinetown I am roaming on US cell but there is a Nextel tower there also.

I can occasionally make and complete a call standing out in my yard. I get a lot of dropped calls, extremely irritating. My phone always bares the brunt of my anger which ends up costing more. Coverage in town is much better with 3 to 5 bars within the city limits.

Outbound service never fails, but inbound calls occasionally inexplicably go straight to voice mail without ringing the phone.
