No issues along Myrtle Grove Rd. and Masonboro Loop Rd. Area around Greenville Loop Rd. / Pine Grove Rd. intersection is bad though. Mostly great in Wilmington. Makes sense since Alltel had awesome regional coverage, then Verizon bought them out.

I have no problems with my Droid however my wife's ATT phone has dropped calls while in our house.

Strangely Verizon seems to have bad to no 3G coverage in downtown Wilmington NC, but excellent in the surrounding area despite what coverage maps indicate. West of about 16th street data is almost unusable. Seems very odd. Voice remains OK but with a Droid thats like cutting off a leg.

Great reception with Alltel. Terrible reception with Verizon. Verizon tried to switch back to Alltel towers and still terrible reception. After run-arounds, they admitted the service is no good and offered to let me out of my contract. I loved Alltel for years, but now... ... Thanks Verizon for screwing up Wilmington. I wish you would spend money on service instead of advertising how great you are.

I'm at the very end of Marsh Hen Drive, and have very poor Verizon signal inside the home. It often picks up what is likely an Alltel antenna. Verizon says there'll be no new towers in our area and even offered to terminate the contract if I wished to switch to another carrier, but no others usually work here either. Ah, well. Forget about mobile phone at home, I guess!

I HATE Verizon... Just canceled and was let out of contract due to "outage" in area... that could not be resolved... has been going on for MONTHS! They should not sell service here they can not DELIVER... If you are experiencing same I suggest you call and complain... then ask for rebate..I asked for the 3 weeks I could not get service... they agreed but when they told me they do not know when it would be fixed I flipped... .and they now agree to let me out of the contract! "They want me to be HAPPY" I recommend you all do the SAME DUMP VERIZON! BE HAPPY!

Horrible reception in my apartment, multiple dropped calls. Have to go outside to reliably make a call. Verizon refused to let me out of the contract. No complaints with Verizon prior to moving to Wilmington. Don't know where to go next. UScellular?

Verizon Wireless sucks in where I am at Mayfair. I get maybe 1 bar at best and often I don't get calls, lots of dropped calls and often I get the NO SERVICE message on my phone. I went the the Verizon store on Oleander to see what was up and the dude told me that there will be 20 new towers put up in the next year. I think that's BS. My buddy who lives in the same apartment complex just switched from Verizon to Sprint told me it works great in his apartment and all over Wilmington.

I live on the Intracoastal so only Alltel and Verizon have a signal here in this location. Though the other day a friend who had a new Cingular phone came by, and he had a 1-2 bar signal; in the past Cingular had no signal here. T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular have no signal. Last year I had Alltel, but when I travelled to NYC I only got an analog signal in a lot of places so I switched to Verizon.

I love Verizon Wireless in Wilmington, NC it's the best service ever.

I am surprised to hear such good reviews of Verizon. I constantly drop calls in my house and certain points on campus, and in general I have a hard time hearing the other person because of my reception. Maybe it's just my phone, though, who knows.

I switched from Sprint to Verizon when I moved here from Ohio. Even though I was in Sprint's footprint, I couldn't get a single call through. As I only use a mobile, I had to switch. I called and got out of my contract without paying an early term. fee. I signed up with Verizon and I love it. I rarely drop calls, I don't have to worry about roaming at all with the new plans. The only thing lacking right now is the inability to send picture messages, but that should be resolved soon.
