Sprint sucks basically anywhere that's not the mall in the city of Winston Salem. Near the mall where I purchased it it has decent signal. At home it is 1-2 bars on a good day. Messages have to be sent multiple times and people on the other end complain about call quality. Id advise you to stay away.Was this review helpful to you?
We've used the Sprint network through Ting mobile for about 2 years. Data service has always been spotty at best, which is not a huge deal to me. But over the past few weeks the network has been dropping calls at a very high rate. If I watch my phone, it cycles between four bars, to no bars, back to four again without moving. Note that this is true with my wife's phone as well. Not sure where we'll go next but this is too unreliable to be useful.Was this review helpful to you?
Sprint has tremendously improved. I now have 4G LTE everywhere, and perfect service. All over the city, places where I used to get maybe a bar now have at least 2-3 bars of 3G, but usually 4G LTE. It's nice having unlimited 4G that I can actually use now. Better, they're rolling out spark here. On Robinhood road and peace haven, I got 68mbps (yes, that's correct! Not 6.8!) of 4G. Unlimited! The only spotty area is at the last block of two of the Robinhood road end of buena vista - I get just about 1 or 2 bars of 3G only... but the second you turn down Robinhood, service goes up again and you have 4G. Apparently they haven't optimized their towers they've added in yet. Hopefully it will improve in that spot.Was this review helpful to you?
Almost Never get more than a 1 / 2 bar. Phone is constatnly searching for service! Not just at home but in a lot of places. I agree with other writers; the AT&T ad that boasts the most coverage over its competitors is a farce! I can't deal anymore, I am sincerely searching for a better service provider.Was this review helpful to you?

Awful service and I thought AT&T was bad. I've had Verizon, AT&T and now Sprint. Went with them for the unlimted data and can't even use it. VERY slow 3g... when I get it. Best in this area is Verizon, but they have horrible customer service. Maybe in 10 years when we get 4G it will be better with Sprint...Was this review helpful to you?
In and around Salem College, coverage is usually 1-2 bars at most. Indoors, it usually drops to 1 bar or no coverage at all. The good news is that Salem has wifi all over the place, so if you have wifi calling on your phone, you will still be OK.Was this review helpful to you?
Over the last year, my Sprint service has gone from good to acceptable to non-existent. If I'm at home, I get calls to my cell 60% of the time. The rest of the time, the caller goes to voicemail because my phone doesn't ring. I can test this because I have Google Voice set up on my line so that calls to my cellular number ring both my land-line and cell phone. The house phone rings every time... the cell phone, not so much. On top of voice issues, I must rely on 3g data since I naively upgraded to an LTE phone and our area does not have LTE as of yet. The 3g service is as bad if not worse than the voice service. If I am not connected to wireless, I may as well forget about using data. 3g speeds here are equivalent to dial-up. I used to tell everyone how great Sprint was for the price paid. Now, I wouldn't even recommend it if it were free.Was this review helpful to you?

I'm usually not in a situation where I cannot use my phone for calling / texting. However, the 3g service is very spotty. Sometimes, even with a lot of bars of 3g service, it will still take a long time to load webpages in Safari, or to check Facebook. Usually 3g isn't even available downtown, and sometimes it works fairly well, and other times not at all. I went with Sprint because I've used their service for years. But since getting a smart phone, I'm ready to change carriers.Was this review helpful to you?
