I have been with US Cellular for at least 10 years. I have great reception regardless of where I go. Of course as with all cell phones there are a few droppped calls, but it is very few. I went with US Cell because I am originally from KY and phone service there on Alltell would not work. With US cellular I get service in all the states, even in the mountainous areas. I even get service in the parts of Nash county NC that with other providers the service is poor.

I have been with AT&T (old Cingular) for 10 years and have no complaints. Coverage inside the house is maybe 2-bars and spotty but I rarely drop a call. Outside or driving anywhere in the area, 2-3 bars and good reception. Most of the time my phone shows I am on 3G, downloads are not speedy but service is consistent.

We had no service at our home, until we got the new hybrid phones. (The phones stink - one started cutting off right the bat and the other one is simply falling apart.) We did get up to 2 bars periodically at home in some areas, but most of the time there is no direct connect. 2 year contract keeps us locked in and wondering if we should pay to get out like our friends have.

I have used AT&T for some years and I used to hate it for the dropped calls. That has changed in the past 2 years and I haven't had a dropped call anywhere and I travel all over the country. Between Zebulon and Raleigh on 64 or 64 Bus I always have a great signal. The only place I can't get coverage is inside Food Lion - which is fine with me since I hate that store.

Verizon is a joke out here and in Louisburg, and half the places around. Unless you are in downtown Raleigh 24 / 7 / 365 Find a different carrier. They need to stop spending all their money (advertising and paying all those extras that show up to "support your every call:) and actually build some towers and relationships to support those calls. I think regulation should change to require providers that advertise service in an area to provide it or deduct from the monthly bill every dropped, static laden call. The software on the phone could be modified to accomplish that.

Had Alltel service with fair service, but hated their customer service. Changed to Cingular on the promise that their coverage was good and improving in our area. Although Cincular has the best plan for us (family plan) their coverage is poor at best. Will consistently drop calls between home and Raleigh, drop calls around the beltline, and have to go outside to use phone at home. The funny thing is that they still promise service improvements in our area after 3 years. Wish they would spend less money on ads and more on towers.

My reception is excellent almost everywhere I go, I just upgraded to this phone from a Nokia 5185. With that phone I travelled from Zebulon to Northern Michigan and had perfect reception all the way with the exception of when I was driving through the mountains of West Virginia. The only problem I have with Verizon is there choice of tri mode phones, and the fact that they deliberitley have the phone manufactures to disable the data transfer feature so you cannot transfer data from your phone to your pc for those pictures you take on your camera phone without paying them extra money and taking extra time to transfer through thier "special Paid Service."
