My phone works good when we are in the Oakport Twp area. Co-workers with Verizon have very poor coverage there but my Alltel Blackberry works perfect out there.

Recently moved from Verizon to Alltel. I was a bit reluctant to do this because Verizon had worked well for me and many people I work with have Verizon. I must say that I was surprised at how how much better the Alltel coverage is in the Fargo area.

The conversion of the Alltel towers in the Fargo, ND area seems to be almost complete. 3G coverage can be had in pretty much every section of the city. Call quality / consistency has dramatically improved as well! AT&T will be a strong competitor in the Fargo area as soon as they open their corporate stores here. I know that there will be one at the corner of 13th Ave S and 45th St. S. The other that I am aware of is in the West Acres Mall.

Terrible coverage by AT&T. I can't call any customer service as it requires several minutes waiting time but it ends up with dropped calls. I am very unsatisfied with AT&T. I saw that they are opening an office at Fargo Mall. Hopefully their coverage will get better and it will make some use to have data plan on my iphone. Otherwise, I use it only when I am out of Fargo-ND area. I wish I could switch to Verizon, but I am on a contract...

Frequent dropped calls. Just plain crap. I Moved to Fargo from Minneapolis and had an iPhone and the cheap LG360 - was living in South Fargo by Famous Daves and got such bad reception the iPhone is no longer with me- but since I was stuck in a contract, I now drop at least 4 calls a week -and 90% of the time when at home I have zero bars. This is NOT an exaggeration. I get text messages when I leave the area that were 4-10 hours old. Unacceptable.

Horrible Reception throughout the whole area. Didn't even have Edge Data Access, GPRS which pretty much saying that you don't have any Internet access at all. Hoping to go to college at NDSU or MSUM, hoping I don't have to switch to Sprint. I love AT&T but without 3G an iPhone is pretty much useless and it's pretty said there is no 3G in a metropolitan of more than 200,000 people.

Ever since AT&T aquired Alltel markets in the area my iphone is way quicker. I went into the local Alltel store and they are showing 3G planned for most of all the dakotas and montana by Feb 2011! I have already noticed a huge increase in reception for me.

I am a long-time former ATT customer. I've traveled to NDSU repeatedly over the past 18 months. Once the merger with Cingular was complete, my former strong reception dropped to zero. Cingular's solution? Buy a new phone and change rate plans to Cingular - even though they admit they don't have coverage. This is disgraceful

I have strong signal during calls in and out of buildings in all areas of Fargo. Internet service on the phone is available almost anywhere as well since I-29 and I-94 runs through Fargo. Been using Sprint for 6+ years now and I have not yet had dropped calls on my end, but I have always had SmartPhones which usually have stronger signals. When I move out of this area, I will be switching to a GSM network
