I have been an Alltel customer for about 8 years. In the beginning, Alltel coverage was very good in Nebraska. Ever since moving to a totally digital network, reception continually gets worse and worse. In and around Ashland coverage is very poor - frequent lost calls / frequent calls "broken up" / frequent inability to call - I have complained to Alltel on numerous occasions. Have emailed sales and technical associates and the excuse is always - "THEY are working on the towers in that area." However, noone can ever give me an ETA for better reception. Even filled out a survey once and requested a call back, which I've never received. I've spoken to others in the area and will be switching cell service providers as soon as my contract is up.

I could send / receive text messages about 1 / 2 the time while at home, but phone calls were pretty much out of the question. AT&T would not let me off my contract because "there's plenty of reception in Omaha and Lincoln"
