AT&T Reception is HORRIBLE at my parents' house in West Omaha. I have to be in certain locations upstairs in order to get one bar. Calls drop frequently and I get absolutely no service in their basement. I recently switched from Verizon which I got service absolutely everywhere except where I now work in rural Northeast Kansas.

I was with Sprint for 5 years before this and we never had any problem even in remote towns... but AT&T is terrible even in Omaha.

I'm freaking am tired of AT&T's sucky, cheap, pathetic signal. I want to get rid of them so bad because I know Version Wireless or Sprint will do the job for retaining signal in the 68111 area. I am not the only one with the issue because all my friends with AT&T agree with me that the signal is pathetic. They need to amp up the towers strength or something because its not just my phone, I have a whole set of kids who agree with me at school that AT&T is jacked up if they can get reception with the other major wireless carriers. Also, the amount of drop calls are just another piece of work from AT&T. Yeah, AT&T says they cover 97% of Americans, but they do it with a reception of 1 or 0 bars with the letter E reception instead of 3G coverage! Even outside of buildings It still isn't solved! Lesson to be learned: AT&T sucks, get the other carriers for Omaha for your own good!

Five bars of 3G service with speeds exceeding 3Mbps, even in my basement. AT&T is rock-solid around 72nd and Military / 72nd and Ames. Can't say the same about GSM coverage in all of the Omaha area; the southwest metro area has some major coverage issues. Very solid here in the north-central metro though.

This is the worst service I have ever had. I would be better off using a shortwave radio. I have not been able to complete a phone call in over a year while sitting in my home. It may take two minutes, it may take ten - but your call WILL get dropped. My wife has an iPhone 3G as well, and has the same problems. We are selling our phones, and switching to another carrier due to the terrible network.

I live out west (156th and Center). Coverage downtown with the iPhone is usually pretty good. Coverage at home and west of that is terrible. Little-no coverage at 168th and on west towards heading out of town. AT&T map says there is a tower by our place and we are just out of range of it. If I'm in the basement, I cannot get signal. Upstairs, I occasionally do but sometimes get dropped calls as well.

Trying to be dispassionate, ATT does not work in this area. It also doesn't appear to work in a variety of other Omaha areas. Ive lived in this area for 5 years and must have ATT for work and it has actually gotten worse lately, capacity? who knows. For giggles, I bought a boost / nextel phone to see if it was me or the Samsung phone I am using ( which I really like ) and the Boost / Nextel phone works flawlessly even in my basement etc.

I get little to no reception at home or in my neighborhood. I have to talk on speaker phone because my head filters out all of the signal. My phone also constantly switches between the Edge network and 3G, which means a dropped call every single time that happens. I know this is a dead area for most phones, but I would like to switch to a carrier with more reliable service.

Perfect reception, and I'm even in a basement apartment! There is a tower right across Dodge street. In fact, every carrier works here EXCEPT sprint. Go figure. The big complaint I have about AT&T though is that they are seemingly lying to everyone about their rollout of 3G service in Omaha. It was supposed to be here a year ago! What is going on?

Stay away from AT&T in Omaha! I had Sprint for 4 years in Omaha with no complaints. My work switched me to AT&T and the coverage is HORRIBLE. Calls ALWAYS get dropped at 144th and Blondo, which is on my way home from work, so it happens to me all the time. Also, when I leave work I have to tke the elevator down to the lobby. My phone loses all reception when I get in the elevator, and doesn't start working again for over 10 minutes. I can get halfway across the city in my car, and I still won't have service after losing it in the elevator. I thought it was the phone, so I sent it back, and got a new one. Same problem. It's the service, not the phone. And, if anyone tries to call me during this 10-15 minutes of no service, it rings once for them, and then nothing. They can't even leave me a voicemail. I've had several people complain about that when they call me. I wouldn't recommend AT&T service in Omaha to my worst enemy. My company has an agreement with AT&T, so I'm stuck with it. It's so bad, I'm seriously considering getting a another phone with Sprint or Verizon and paying for it out of my own pocket. That's how worthless AT&T is in Omaha.

I wonder why so many people are having such poor coverage? I have an out of state area code, but I don't know why that would make a difference.

Although I love my iPhone, I am considering switching as AT&T's service coverage is absolutely horrible. The only mistake Apple made with the iPhone was partnering with a substandard carrier such as AT&T. Happy with reception when traveling between Omaha and MN or Omaha and Dallas. Sometime have problems with voicemails showing up several days after the fact. Annoying! But, like I said, pretty happy most of the time and don't know if any other providers would be better. Like the GSM because you can by phones anywhere and just put your SIM card in new phone. Acquired my phone from Cingular about 2 years ago and was very pleased with service in and around Omaha. Right around the time AT&T took over, my service began to suffer. I travel Dodge many times per day and it never fails that I lose connection around 144th and Dodge. I also will receive voice mail messages from people that have called me, and my phone has not rung. I have asked callers when this has happened if my number rang or if it immediately jumped to voice mail. All have told me that my number rings several times and then goes to voice mail. AT&T customer service has been worthless in answering my questions about why service is worse now, than it was when I was a Cingular customer. I have been told that other than the name, nothing has changed as far as coverage and cell towers are concerned. I will be changing companies very soon.

I had, originally, been an AT&T customer. Coverage wasn't anything to write home about, but it was adequate. Then, Cingular bought AT&T. Used the acquired AT&T towers for their signal, and my AT&T compatible phone was no,longer compatible with Cingular's signal. They said they would do nothing to help the situation. Unless, I wanted to buy new Cingular compatible phones. And, they would drop the remaining 3 months of contract from the AT&T account they acquired. I said no freakin' way. Now, Cingular is advertising themselves as the new AT&T. Will the old AT&T compatible phones work, now? I seriously doubt it. Line of site, stand outside in the elements, all to make a phone call? What a joke. But, the joke's on us. The bill paying customer with no recourse after agreeing to a contract, the provider isn't bound to.

But traveling around Omaha things are ok. When I leave the Omaha area into Plattsmouth or Beaver Lake, Plattsmouth is Ok but Beaver Lake NO RECEPTION at ALL! I use to have Alltel and when I had Alltel they worked REALLY REALLY good. I NEVER had to worry about a dropped call. When Cingular says they have the least drop calls they weren't in Omaha.
