Trying to be dispassionate, ATT does not work in this area. It also doesn't appear to work in a variety of other Omaha areas. Ive lived in this area for 5 years and must have ATT for work and it has actually gotten worse lately, capacity? who knows. For giggles, I bought a boost / nextel phone to see if it was me or the Samsung phone I am using ( which I really like ) and the Boost / Nextel phone works flawlessly even in my basement etc.
I switched to AT&T to get the iphone... .Bad mistake! I rarely can make it through a call without it being dropped. Making a call from a building... .forget about it. I even have dropped calls while driving under a 2 lane overpass.
Sprint usually delivers good reception throughout Omaha. The issues with Sprint are their lack of quality phones. Every cool phone on the market (iphone, blackberry bold, blackberry storm, etc) is not available on the Sprint network. The only decent phones they do have, they usually get them months or years afters carriers like AT&T and Verizon have had them. THIS IS INEXCUSABLE! As a customer I should not have to accept that my carrier, that I pay good money to, refuses to spend the money necessary to get the rights to the top end phones. This is the main reason that Sprint is losing thousands of customers every month. They have yet to understand that they can have the good reception and cheap rates, but with no quality phones people are going to leave. Step up Sprint, or get ready to file for bankruptcy.
They slold me the phones and the service without ever mentioning that they do not have a 402- area code. I get my phone and it is a 660- area code. That is MO. Bad service also... T-mobile is a Joke DO NOT GET T-MOBILE.
Perfect service from oak view area and in general around town. Using boost mobile actually. Its really rather good reception. No dropped calls in a month ( or maybe one ) which was completely different than my experience with AT&T
Reception is 4-5 bars most of the time. Even when I'm right next to a tower (US Cell told me where the towers were in my home area), it won't get full service, which is weird. But when I leave my home area it roams on verizon, which is the best partner to have. And if there's no Verizon available, it roams on alltel. Great roaming coverage for occasional trips.
Signal bounces heavily, from 5 bars to 0 bars (but always holds a signal). Since 3G came out, it's been 1-2 bars. Before then, it was 4-5 bars. AT&T said it was a problem with the phone. Yeah, right.
I swtched from us cellular to Sprint and I have never dropped a call any where in omaha I drive 10 hours a day threw omaha ad surrounding areas no major issues. reception depends on quality of phone I use 3 different phones for work all Sprint I some phones get better signal than others but overall Sprint wins all the way around. No problems at all any where I have been
