I moved to Omaha from Chicago and Verizon hasn't failed me yet. I was contemplating changing to AT and T (major IPhone envy) but decided to stay with Verizon.
Have called, tried 3 different phones, asked Sprint to update, no avail. 1 bar or none, 2 maybe in the parking lot. I get 2 bars in my home with the new Instinct while my old Sanyo flip-phone got 4 bars. Sprint is going backwards.
I get little to no reception at home or in my neighborhood. I have to talk on speaker phone because my head filters out all of the signal. My phone also constantly switches between the Edge network and 3G, which means a dropped call every single time that happens. I know this is a dead area for most phones, but I would like to switch to a carrier with more reliable service.
Usually, my phone will have one bar but I often see "No Service". If I do get a call, it is very choppy and usually drops. I'm switching to Verizon once the Blackberry Storm is released.
Perfect reception, and I'm even in a basement apartment! There is a tower right across Dodge street. In fact, every carrier works here EXCEPT sprint. Go figure. The big complaint I have about AT&T though is that they are seemingly lying to everyone about their rollout of 3G service in Omaha. It was supposed to be here a year ago! What is going on?
