I absolutley love U.S. Cellular I have great signal with them. Not only that they were nice enough to help me program my phone and everything. They went out of their way to make sure I was happy.

I am always in the vacinity of 144th and Dodge and 65th and Maple... my phone always drops the call or the connection is so garbled I have to hang up. I've experienced this with Cingular and Verizon. My girlfriend has Sprint and has NO PROBLEM in either location. I'm switching carriers today.

I had some reception problems in this area but recently things have been better. I called Cingular and I guess there is a new tower so we get good calls here (even in our basement). But traveling around Omaha things are ok. When I leave the Omaha area into Plattsmouth or Beaver Lake, Plattsmouth is Ok but Beaver Lake NO RECEPTION at ALL! I use to have Alltel and when I had Alltel they worked REALLY REALLY good. I NEVER had to worry about a dropped call. When Cingular says they have the least drop calls they weren't in Omaha.

I have always had excellent reception on my phone in Omaha over the past 3.5 years. Can't remember the last time I had a call drop, and I travel quite a bit.

I live at 83rd and Fort area. The entire neighborhood is in a "blank spot". I took the phone back right away and switched back to Alltel, which I've had for 4 years without a problem in Omaha.

My son attends Creighton University and he cannot get T-Mobile reception in his dorm. The only way to talk to us back in Wichita, KS is to go out to the parking lot. While driving through Omaha I have tried to use my T-Mobile and it is hit and miss. Highly recommend not sending you student to Creighton with T-Mobile. You will never be able to contact him / her when you need to.

My Cingular phones work well in all of Omaha except for a couple real minor spots like down right by the Zoo. Otherwise I have full bars all the time, some of the people with Issues could be the phone they have I have the Motorola RAZR and SLVR and both work incredibly. I guess it helps that I constantly am getting the newest phones as well!

I was outside on a hill on top of a manhole cover trying to get a bar. One of the CU employees driving by stopped and asked if I was making a commerical for a cell phone company. Really frustrated with Cingular in Omaha. Plan to go back to Sprint. They were really good compared to Cingular.

About 2 weeks ago I noticed that I didn't receive any calls for about 6 days. Usually I don't have any problems with my phone, but this was a burden. A friend of mine has Alltel and pointed this out to me. His phone seems to work just fine, anywhere he is for that matter. I think Alltel is the most versatile carrier of anyone around here.

Sprint is awesome in Omaha, great coverage throughout the city and the I80 corridor, good support from the 72nd and Dodge Office. A bit spotty and roaming when you head west to Fremont.

ALLTELL WIRELESS service no longer works at 38th and Dodge Street, also 37th and Dodge Street; 36th and Dodge Street; 35th and Dodge Street. No ability to call out or receive incoming. The phone looks like it is "trying" to make a call then fails. No ring sound on incoming calls.Problems started around late October. ALLTELL WIRELESS says they have no reports of any problems in this area... ??? The previous message posted on your website regarding similar problems in this same area caught my eye. Anybody know what's up?

Have used Alltel on 2 identical wireless phones with good reception for 1-1 / 2 years. Suddenly, around Oct. 20 or so, lots of dropped calls started. On Oct. 27 unable to make or receive any calls around 38th and Lincoln Blvd, 38th and Hamilton, and in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. When someone calls, no ring-- but call rolls directly into voicemail. Nor can I make an outgoing call, the menu reads "calling" and then drops, and reads "call failed." Cannot make or receive calls in my house or outside anymore. The only way I know someone has called is when I hear the beeps signalling that there is a voice message. This continues to be the situation and it started simultaneously with both phones. This is affecting everyone in my neighborhood who has Alltel Wireless although Alltel is denying that they know of any other problems than mine. On Sat. 10-28-06 talked in person with Alltel retail sales rep at Omaha store who admitted that since Oct. 19, Alltel's signal in the mid-town Omaha area is being "interfered with" by recent changes that SPRINT has made to its towers. Asked when these issues would be resolved and she said it is unknown. She offered to replace the phone, just in case it was an "equipment issue" and then when she saw that I had had the phones for more than 1 year, said warranty had expired and I would have to buy a new phone if I wanted to find out if the problem was in any way related to equipment. When I pointed out that I had had nearly perfect service with Alltel in my neighborhood for 1-1 / 2 years and that I did not want to pay for service that is no longer available in my neighborhood or in my home, she smartly told me that I needed to "read the contract" and I would see that Alltel does not "guarantee" service in all areas of Nebraska. She advised that if I broke the contract I would be required to pay a $200 termination fee. I have been on the phone (land line) for several hours with Alltel techs who cannot resolve the mystery. After 2 hours with 2 techs, a 3d tech said that he was able to see nothing in the computer system to show that I had called before, nor could he find anything that had been "written up" about my problem by the prior techs to whom I had spoken. He did not understand why a "trouble ticket" had not been opened as of my first call on Sat. Oct 28. At this point, Alltel techs state that they are unaware of anyone else in the mid-town Omaha area having problems with reception, and that they can offer no resolution to the problem, other than to have me pay for a service that has been taken away. I am wondering if the real deal is that they have upgraded or changed their signal and it is somehow no longer compatible with the phones they sold before, but they do not want to be put to the expense of providing new ones to their customers? If anyone else reading this lives in the mid-town area of Omaha (38th st, 36th St, etc) and is having the same problems, call them so they can know that it is not just one customer experiencing this. If anyone has any suggestions that can help, I appreciate your response. If this is not resolved soon, I will never use Alltel again and will make a point of telling all of my friends and business acquaintances never to buy Alltel service.

Had good reception in my home with AT&T and TDMA technology. Since switching to GSM after Cingular bought AT&T, I've experienced numerous dropped calls. Cingular's TV commercials showing superior coverage (more bars) are a painful joke. I now use an Internet phone service called Skype from my home.
