Always disconnected if I made a call from my basement apartment. I have to go outside to get a better reception. Better than T-Mobile but worse than Verizon.
Great reception in my home and all the places I travel to regularly. About the only places I've had a weaker signal are parts of of North Omaha and Benson. Good signal stregnth in Iowa and and most parts of Nebraksa.
Cingular coverage is terrible in this area. Constantly drops calls. Calls to customer service result in being told that I "should have good reception". My advice is use another carrier.
I had, originally, been an AT&T customer. Coverage wasn't anything to write home about, but it was adequate. Then, Cingular bought AT&T. Used the acquired AT&T towers for their signal, and my AT&T compatible phone was no,longer compatible with Cingular's signal. They said they would do nothing to help the situation. Unless, I wanted to buy new Cingular compatible phones. And, they would drop the remaining 3 months of contract from the AT&T account they acquired. I said no freakin' way. Now, Cingular is advertising themselves as the new AT&T. Will the old AT&T compatible phones work, now? I seriously doubt it. Line of site, stand outside in the elements, all to make a phone call? What a joke. But, the joke's on us. The bill paying customer with no recourse after agreeing to a contract, the provider isn't bound to.
