AT&T
It is nearly impossible to get any reception at the bottoms of hills, frequent dropped calls. This is my 2nd Cingular phone and it's the same way.

BAD reception of Cingular GSM. It was much better when it was ATT GSM. Fairly typical across Omaha, bad here!

Switched from Virgin Mobile with the Kyocera Slider phone to Verizon and the Motorola v276. A VAST improvement. What a joy to actually get reception bars in my own home! I specifically avoided Sprint / Nextel because Virgin Mobile used some of their towers for service, and I literally got no bars in my house. Other friends with Sprint have smae complaints of 'dead zones'. So far, very pleased with Verizon and my Motorola.

Have an old TDMA phone and reception constantly bounces up and down and is non-existant in several places in my home. I assume it is better with GSM. I would not recommend Cingular TDMA in this area, though I have had excellent service with them elsewhere.

Sprint
Great reception with Sprint in NorthWest Omaha. I get service in any buildings, in my basement, and have tried it as far out as Elkhorn and Waterloo with no issues at all.

Every place in Omaha I have taken this phone has showed me 4-5 bars of reception. EXCEPT my home or my neighborhood! Within a block of my house there is this 'dead zone' where reception is nill.

Verizon
Verizon is the only carrier that I have used that maintains a signal in my basement. I have used Alltel and Sprint and was lucky to carry a bar in or around my house.

No reception in large buildings. Brand new phone. Displays "roam" (I live in Omaha!) no bars, no ring / vibrate. Have to shut down phone, step outside to "reset" to home system.

Some areas in my neighborhood 54th and Blondo have significant drop of signal. I have checked this with three different phone models. Very dissappointing!

I've only run across two no-service areas: elevators and public, metal-enclosed restrooms. :o

Within buildings could be better especially since their "new GSM" upgrade this season.
