Long Lines Wireless (local AT&T roaming partner) has been locked in negotiations with the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska for a couple years, if not longer, regarding a local tower in Walthill. In the meantime, cell phone users suffer. Nearest tower is 6 miles north and partially blocked by hills, meaning in much of Walthill it's not possible to receive calls or use data services. Texts and voicemails can come in even a couple hours after sent, and you have to walk around to find a "sweet spot" to make a call. CDMA networks like Verizon and Sprint have the same issues -- Walthill is basically a dead zone on all networks unless you have an older phone with an extendable antenna.
