Dead zone at that location. Near the rotary, no problem. But closer to Beaver lake and signal strength drops off fast. This is in the winter. In summer (with leaves on trees), get no service. Upgraded to newer LG VX-5400, and only slightly better, but still dropped calls. Can't carry on conversation. Called Verizon several times. They insist that coverage on that street is fine according to technician who tested. Challenged them to call me on my phone. Cannot. They suggested upgrading my phone (but pay full retail on phone). No Thanks Demo'd the LG CU515 from AT&T at same location. Clear as a bell. Will spend $ to break Verizon contract, need cell coverage for work.
I usually had no bars of signal to occassionally 1 bar inside my woodframed house with cedar siding. I could not make or receive calls from inside and only rarely could I make them out in the yard. I put in numerous complaints to Customer and tech support at Verizon and they said they would make a check of the towers and come check signal in my area and they would call back with their findings. This went on and on and they never followed up with the calls they promised. The problem kept getting assigned a new case number so this dragged on for 5 months. They finally gave me a story that they could not by law check the signal in my neighborhood because that was against federal privacy laws. I just terminated my plan with Verizon after using their service for nearly 10 years. I went with AT&T and when I checked my new AT&T Tilt inside my house I had 2 bars and could finally make and receive calls!
Lucky if you can hear anyone. Intermittent reception at best inside or outside of home. Forget the downstairs. Also, I agree that service drops altogether by John Deere but then again it has been doing so for the past 4 years no matter WHAT phone or service I have. Does the same near exit 3 so must be interference of some kind that forces poor service and dropped calls.
I get 2 bars on my deck (where we usually make our calls) and 0-1 in the house (it's pretty much unusable). I really like T-Mobile - great reception in cities and when travelling; I guess my home Derry is on the fringe of reception.
recepion just dies out when you get close to where the new john deere store is on rt28. but then again, Nextel doesn't get any reception any where I go. I can call someone in Rio on the 2 way talk, but I can't talk to my neighbor.
