Looks likr the new tower on Rt. 101 is working finally. Signal strength is 5 bars, same as it was when the temporary tower was there.

The new (Cingular?) cell tower has been approved located just off Rt. 101 near Hampton Beach. My Verizon phone works well (4) on the third floor of my townhouse and sometimes I can get out on the 1st and 2nd floor. No service at all at ground level for at least half mile in either direction on Ocean Blvd. Reception gets better going south but N. Hampton has little or no reception near the beach. Hopefully the new Rt. 101 tower will get everyone to sign on and help the beach.

My reception is horrible. My bars go from 1 to 3 and then it starts roaming then the signal fades and the call is dropped.

Dropped Sprint in 2008, which never worked at home, and switched to AT&T, which at least allows us to complete most calls. We are a mile from the ocean, in Hampton at the border of North Hampton.

Pointing my phone toward the beach area will give me better reception, otherwise I get 1 to 2 bars in my house and around my yard. I miss calls frequently, and text messages and voicemails usually come in 30 mins later.

Inside test. Signal strength of -101 dBM (closer to zero is best). ***Bars don't tell you anything because the change in signal strength from 4 to 5 bars varies depending on your device*** Ping is 137ms / down is 0.88 Mbps (or 880 Kbps) / up is 0.17 Mbps. If I go 1.7 miles up Rte one to N. Hampton (Home Depot / Staples) I get around 2-3 Mbps, even inside a building. I was able to stream on Netflix without issue at those speeds. AT&T signal is quite good WHEN it is good which, unfortunately, is not consistently enough. Still I have unlimited data (grandfathered) so for now I will stay.

Can recieve texts, can send texts (after 2-3 tries) Often times will miss a phonecall but recieve a voicemail alert a minute later. I tried calling myself from a house phone. Sometimes I can outward dial but I usually use a house phone. Cell service in NH defies description on any carrier.

My phone works fine when I am outside (1 or 2 bars) but when I come inside I have to stay in certain parts of the house. I lose my call if I bend over to get something out of the crisper drawer in the fridge, but not if I am standing in the same spot. I lose calls usually in the same spots through out the house. It is very frustrating that I can be sitting in the same spot and talk for a while and not move and then lose my signal. My husband has Verizon and he has 4 or 5 bars no matter where he is in the house.
