We don't have a land line and rely exclusively on our three Sprint / Nextel phones. We have 5 bars in our yard, 4-5 bars in the house and 1-3 bars in our basement. I am happy with that.

Basically, you get what you pay for. Virgin Mobile offers cheap pre-paid service... and you'll be able to take advantage of it for about 3 weeks out of the month you purchase. It may be by coincidence, but I've had my Rumor Touch for about 4 months. The last week of each month, I've lost my ability to send text messages for days at a time. The previous weeks will consist of dropped calls, people hanging up on you because they can't hear you, or a 24 hour waiting period for your friend to receive your text. Not to mention, they're extremely easy to hack, and quite frankly, there isn't much else for people to do in this area besides spy on their peers. Not recommended unless you're extremely patient, and public about your personal life.

Paying the extra $30 to have internet on a T-Mobile phone is a rip off in this area. You could select a link on your phone, then in the meantime, walk to the Kingston Public Library, find the site on their computer, walk back home and have a snack, all before T-Mobile is able to process your request. If you happen to wander into Newton, forget it; you'll have no service, which with T-Mobile, seems to effect the entire function of the cell phone. No texts, calls, internet, or e-mail unless you literally drive until you find at least two bars, at least in my experience.

I think T-Mobile sucks. I was gonna go with Verizon but after looking at all the results for kingston new hampshire I am not shore. I really don't want to have to go back to sprint.

Don't bother. I ended up, literally, throwing my MetroPCS phone at a brick wall a week after purchase. No one needs the stress promised to come with MetroPCS.
