Bars ranged from 1 to 2 depending on where you stand. Digital voice quality was fair to poor.

No service, to 1 bar. Kind of like trying to hold the old TV antenna still for the best picture... move a few inches and the signal drops.

Poor reception in a "black hole" area of town, but still better than AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile. Generally get 2 solid bars outside, 1-2 indoors. Other carriers get absolutely nothing on the whole street.

Can barely use my cell phone at home without the call getting dropped -- usually one bar most of the time. Other areas of Merrimack seem to provide more bars.

Cannot use this phone at home - period! If you're lucky, you'll get one bar and get your voice mail. Other than that, it's useless throughout this neighborhood.

no cell coverage on Bean road and some of Bedford road. Called Verizon many times, they said there is nothing they can do to help us. I have to stand next to a window upstairs in my home to get any reception. many dropped calls in my home area. Merrimack near Bedford.

U.S. Cellular is pretty good in Merrimack, second only to Verizon. Those two (and possibly Nextel) are the only ones that can cover the entire town (thw two roam on eachother so if only one has coverage they both do)!

Cingular is very poor in most of Merrimack (the worst of all providers). Many areas have no signal at all. GSM is (still) worse than TDMA coverage. It's good on Rt 3 and the turnpike, but the signal degrades very quickly.

Verizon is king in Merrimack. You won't get full bars all the time due to the heavy tree cover and NIMBYs, but coverage is very good.

I switched from Verizon Wireless to get a better $$ deal on a family plan (4 phones). What a mistake! Dropped calls and dead areas now abound. My son visited at Christmas and his Verizon phone worked in places where mine didn't. I'm switching back to Verizon when the Cingular contract expires.
