As of late July 2005, Cingular has installed and went live with a new GSM cell tower to penetrate coverage thru a majority of Hazlet, Western Middletown, Union Beach and on Hwy. 35. It's located atop of the big blue water tower on Union Ave and gives me now full service through Union Beach, Centerville Rd thru Holmdel, Middle towards Palmer Ave, great coverage in Target now and all of the holmdel commons stores. Also now that tower's got the EDGE data, speeds are so much faster. I'd say this improved coverage a good 3 miles around the tower.

I get good reception generally but do drop calls. Want to go back to Verizon, great reception, but they are just too expensive, "Can we bill you now?" I'm going to move to a Nokia 6200 supposed to have better pickup.

Surprisingly I got 5 bars. I usually get none. Cingular has good reception everwhere but hazlet.

My Nokia gets full bars inside my house, in my basement, in my car, backyard. Pretty much everywhere I go, I've never dropped a call, even at Sandy Hook. It's now Cingular but I still got my AT&T service and it got better after they got bought out. I'm happier.

Reception is always very good no matter where I am, except for the middle of Staten Island, but even radio reception is bad there. I don't like the phone though. I have a Motorola T720 and you must always press down hard on the buttons, sometimes a few times, for the button to work.
