Signal strength varies from 0 to 2 bars. Can usually make a connection, but can rarely keep it for more than a couple of minutes on any of our phones.

0 to 3 bars in my house in Barry Lakes using Cingular with a LG CU-500. I also have a Samsung sgh-a707 also goes by the name Cingular Sync. The reception is very poor in the house with little or no reception using this phone. I can now make calls from my home for the first time with the LG CU-500. I have tried Verison with LG VX8100 ( A great phone but little / no service ) and T-Moble is great until you hit Canistear Rd.where it turns into a brick. I have a new Nextel phone I use for work that I can occasionaly meke a call in my house. Motorola I 670. I get 5 bars in some areas close to my house by Wagon Wheel and Lee Drive. I have been thinking about getting a cellular repeater because I am sure it will help but they are expensive. Cingular gives you a 30 day window to try our their service. Give it a try, it might work for you.

Verizon Suck. No help - no improvement - no service but two years of billing. Maybe they think I have a cell phone so I can travel for reception?

I have poor to no reception through my commute from rockaway area up Birkshire Valley Rd.to Rt. 23 and Up Canistear Rd. Verizon has done several "upgrades" to the software. and state as a final resort I can upgrade my phone, however they will not end my contract early (2 months)to allow me to upgrade with the $100.00 credit. So apparently phones 2 years old are not capable of having good reception. I guess they manufacture "throw away phones" I am going to look into Nextel. Most people in the area seem to use them.
