Have had Verizon for 5 years here in hillsborough. I finally had a rep from Verizon that confirmed my poor reception. The tried 4g on same network and it was no better. I simply have to connect to my wireless router to go online and make calls. Router helps calls (reception)

Unable to complete a phone conversation without being disconnected... .This never used to happen and don't understand why in this past year, dropping of a signal is a real problem. They sure charge enough and should be responsible for their service.

Outdoor is OK; indoors, even near windows are below avg. So much for dropping my landline.

There are rare times when we can make calls, but the signal never lasts for more than 30 seconds or so. Very frustrating.

This area of Hillsborough does have a weaker signal because there are NO nearby cell towers for any carrier. Dropped calls and weak signal occur on South Woods Road, Camden Rd.and Beverly Dr.for all cell phone users no matter who the carrier is. The read of Hillsborough is fine to great for Verizon.

I've been using Verizon for years, from the legacy BAM and it's been getting worse not better over the past two years. I've used several phones and they all drop calls frequently. There's also an echo on many calls where I can hear my own voice. I don't have much choice in carriers here because the others are worse. Outside of Hillsborough, going toward Somerville and east toward Newark, reception is much better. Reception in Manhattan, where I work, is very good. I frequently travel outside of NJ to major metro areas and all have good reception. I don't understand why Verizon doesn't improve their coverage in an area that is close to their HQ. When my contract expires in December, I am going to try another carrier, perhaps Cingular, although I have low expectations. BTW, I do not recommend LG phones. I've had several replacements for the LG VX4600 and they all drop calls. Prior to the XV4600, I had a VX4400 which was better. Before that I had Motorola and Qualcom phones that were excellent.

Please note: The max is 4 bars on this older phone. :-) It's held up pretty well. I've thought about getting a new one, but not sure it would be a good move based on friends experiences with newer phones not holding up very well. Very pleased with Verizon service overall, with Americas Choice Family Share plan. No surprises, no roaming, no long distance etc. I might spend less elsewhere, but I like knowing that it'll be the same price every month. It's a welcome change from charges for roaming, extra minutes, etc that I used to have with VZ (several years ago). Generally good coverage wherever we've travelled, unless we're really in the 'boonies'. I never imagined I'd use my cellphone as much as I do.

Best reception I've gotten with ANY wireless company... and I've tried just about all of them.

If there's any cell service that can be almost perfect with signal strength, then I've found it with Verizon. I've tried other wireless companies and Hillsborough just doesn't get good reception. You can imagine my surprise when I starting getting full signal inside buildings and while outside once I switched to Verizon. Only words of advice are, stay away from the Verizon store up near K Mart if you want a fully stocked store and knowledgeable staff. I was in there several times and they had very few models of cell phones on display. And when I chose one they were always out of stock. I did better going on line. Had my phone in a day.
