5 bars to none, 5 to one, 5 to one... ..up and down for the last month in the exact spot without moving. It's getting ridiculous. I can understand no reception but to have full bars down to none, this is ridiculous.

I have been with T-Mobile since 1999 and NEVER had a problem until now. It has been a week today that the problem has not been rectified. The minute I come home from work and hit my area all bars are gone. They suggested to get a new phone-- guess what? It's not the phone still having the same problem. Any suggestions? I am currently sending the FCC a complaint.

I got T-Mobile in mid '07. T-Mobile has horrible reception in Newport. in the beginning I thought it was just me. Turned out everyone I know with this provider keep their cell phones off most of the time or walking around looking for a signal. you will see 4 bars one sec and when you press the call button, the bars disappear. My roomie gets 'emergency calls only' all the time. I haven't met a person in newport with Tomobile that said they have a good reception so far.

I move to Jersey City(Grove st) 1 month ago and my connection was fine. Last night (May'19) at 6pm my signal dissapeared. I still do not have any signal in my apartment. I called customer servise and got no explanation why it happend. They said that that might be a problems with my phone. Both my husnad and I have Nokia N95 and never experienced any torubles with this phone models ever. I have T mobile since 2002 and it is the first time I have such kind of problems with connection. my husnbad missed couple inmortant business call and he is about to talk to his lawer.

People must realize, that reception DOES depend on the model and quality of phone. My Ericsson Z520A does very well.. but my Motorola V551 blows chunks. I was lucky to keep 2 bars on it. Reception DOES drop to 1 bar at random times, but in general, I get 4-5 bars very consistently. There are a couple of dead-zones in the JC area. Notably along the road into Liberty State Park. Outdoors, my reception is 5 bars, nearly always. Again.. I strongly attribute this to the phone I'm using. I'll never go near Motorola again, because of this.

I'm not one to run out and buy the latest phone as you can see. I've used Nextel since 1999 and kept it because on 9 / 11 I was able to use the direct connect feature to contact my husband that day. Ever since they merged with Sprint, my service has declined. I'm always getting dropped calls -especially in my apt. Before I can move around and use the phone while I cooked or while online. Now, I have to stand at a certain spot in my studio apt in order just to hear the person. The sound is choppy and garbled. I always have either 2 bars or "No Service" and I'm so frustrated! I can't even use my phone in my studio apt and if I have to find a small spot in my studio just to talk - that's bad. I complained to Sprint / Nextel and they commented that they have 2 old towers that get serviced twice a week. They need to get with it. I hope to find a better provider ASAP.

Always get full bars, great reception, no major problems. Very rarely a scratchy call, but thats very sparse. I love it, and wouldnt change my voice plan for anyone else.
