The reception is generally good in house and outside. However, for other reasons I am switching to Cingular. Will let you know how that works out.

Reception used to be better, but is poor now and has degraded in the past couple of years. Sometimes, even with 2 or 3 bars, the calls don't go through or calls drop. I've even gotten cross-linked with other conversations over the weekend and at other times the call starts but can't complete. Is this because of oversubscription. One afternoon I tried to get through to voicemail. The call went through, but got a message to try later. I couln't get to voicemail for more than 2 hours. Verizon used to be the best, but is now becoming frustrating. As soon as GSM is morewidespread I will switch carriers. Glad I didn't switch my landline.

No Service inside the home and poor service outside on the street. Verizon says to update the phone and I have. This is not a mystery to them and they will not improve the service. The two year old Samsung is a bit better than the previous Motorola but people with newer and more expensive phones still have the same problem. Verizon knows all about it but the problem continues. I wonder if the grass is any greener with another carrier.

This area is in dire need of a tower. No reception for Verizon at all, but since my contract is with AT&T, I decided to pick on them. Both TDMA and GSM pipe in with a whopping 1 reception bar every now and then, but it's more often no bars at all.

I have not been able to place a call or answer my Verizon Cell Phone while in my home for the 5 years that I have this service. I cannot believe that will all the complaints I have made I still do not have service. If I walk 4 / 10 of a mile in my condo Development (Paddington Square) to the main road then, and only then can I use my Verizon Cell Phone. Verizon knows it but has done nothing about it. I am charged the same price for service of someone who can actually use their cell phone from their residence or even near their residence.

0 to 1 bar in that area, all T Mobile phones "search for service" there and in other areas of Mahwah, Glen Rock and into as far as Pennsylvania. If you go a mile up the road from that intersection you get 3 to 4 bars, typical of T Mobile but they've gotten much better over the years ranking 2nd behind Verizon. Verizon with the right phone almost always works, problem is they know it and give less minutes than all other carriers until a recent plan with 1000 anytime plus free nights and weekends. My 2 cents for whatever it's worth. T Mobile is decent, I would only recomend it on a family plan, it isn't worth it otherwise. On Verizon, don't ever go with the 2 year plan, pay the 20 dollars extra for the phone for a 1 year plan or you're stuck.
