Weak signal for both Sprint and Verizon. Was ok last year but dropped calls and extremely slow data is the normal now. 200-400kbps. Verizon is slow too but more consistent 600-700kbps.

3G coverage can be iffy at times. Phone network fluctuates, but always have enough bars for decent to good phone reception in Matawan. 3G and phone reception is great, 1 / 2 mile away from my place, and most of the state, which travel to.

I've been a Sprint PCS customer for a VERY long time. I've generally had very great reception wherever I've lived. I even convinced my fiance to get a Sprint phone and be added to my plan. What a mistake! We just bought a condo here in Matawan and when we try to make any phone calls while inside, our calls are dropped mid-conversation about 85% of the time. Not only that, for the last 10 minutes I've been trying to make a phone call and I've been getting this message: ATTENTION: svc cannot be used at this time. Unbelievable! What if it was an emergency? I wonder if I have any legal ability to cancel my contract without penalty if I can't get reception regularly in my house. I've had friends over who had no problem with their cell phone service in our house. Moral of the story: If you live in Matawan / Aberdeen area, DON'T sign a contract with Sprint / Nextel.
