Perfect reception all the time. Never had a call dropped. Gripes are having to pay $9.99 for file transfer by e-mail / text,.25 per file transfer, and.15 per text. Paying $4.99 for lousy web access is unacceptable. Wouldn't mind paying more for minutes and basic bill, but would like more freebies with easier operation.

I dont see many reviews on this site for Sprint. I have had Sprint for several years, and although they have horrible customer service, and spotty coverage in lots of other places outside of NJ, their reception in NJ, all over the state, is excellent. I am thinking about switching carriers because of the customer service and I want a phone that is not available on Sprint. But as for reception, no problems in Jersey...

I travel throughout the State of NJ on a daily basis and have had very little service disruption. In fact I can only think of two places in the State where I ALWAYS drop calls. These places are: the Route 1 South Morris Goodkind Bridge just after the movie theater in New Brunswick; and the second is on Southbound Route 280 in West Orange just after the Eagle Rock Ave. exit. As for customer service, Verizon is policy driven and does not permit its reps to do what they can to help their customers. For example, phone broken and not two years in... your paying retail. They can do alot better in this area. I would rather they charge everyone a little more for their initial phone purchases and allow you to upgrade at the promotional rate whenever you want to.

Reception in and around my area in North Brunswick is bad to horrible. I work in Jersey City and reception there is above par, but it dies out in parts of central jersey. Its too bad, its not like we live in the sticks. The other day, I was driving down Deans Ln between 130 and Rt 1 and I had No Service going there and coming back. At least their consistent with their bad service.

Very poor reception in Colonial Gardens section of North Brunswick, NJ. I've had Nextel (worst), AT&T only slightly better than Nextel, and Cingular (same as AT&T). Route 1 and 130 is a major hub. Why can't Verizon put a good tower in that area? Have they "stopped working for you?"?

Its amazing how much a phone makes a difference in reception. I never realized this with my old Audiovox (also on Verizon). Now I have my personal flip phone (the LG) and a cell for work (the Kyocera). I had never once experienced a dropped callw ith Verizon until I got my LG. Now I know. In most areas it is fine but in ceratian places in Monroe Township and Jackson (especially by 527 and 195) where I almost always loose my call. I still have never lost a call on the Kyocera. I talk roughly 3 hours a day on these phones and I am always driving so I cover many areas. Popular consent is that Verizon is the best in NJ and I almost have to agree.

Average reception in winter and poor reception in Spring and Summer. Too many trees (radio waves don't go through water very well). Cell Tower is at College Farm Rd. and is too low. Verizon is unresponsive.
