CIngular is great. My roommate just dumped TMobile to come to Cingular. I have been running around central jersey, and everywhere I go Cingular has great service.

In the last year and half, T-Mobile has upgraded the reception around. I get 4-5 bars indoor. I believe all of the other providers get good signal here (Sprint, Verizon, Cingular). I had Sprint before and the signal was good.

Never get a bar inside campus buildings, regardless of provider (friends have Verizon). Outside maybe 1 bar. Worst part is that it keeps searching and drains the battery.

Verizon is fairly good in most place on Busch, only after Cingular. However, the voice quality is superb tho... even if there is only one bar, my Verizon Samsung phone can still make very clear calls with o any break or statics. Love it. If you are coming to Rutgers and living on Busch campus (same thing applies to piscataway) get either Verizon or Cingular. DO NOT get Tmobile. T-Mobile TOTALLY SUCKS on Busch. No signal everywhere.

Absolutely dead inside apartment. No signal at the outside-rear of apt. 1-3 bar signal outside-front of apt.

It's great here. But one thing I don't understand is how come it sucked at BAMM last year. BAMM and silvers are so close. W / E, Cingular rocks on most of Busch... unlike T-Mobile... sucks everywhere on Busch... hahaha

Great reception. Switched from AT&T 4 years ago. Can't believe they want to put up a cell phone tower, it is absolutely not needed. If I live here and have 5 bars all the time, with Verizon, how can they claim that there are dead spots in the reception?

5 bars all the time. Great reception, never get dropped.

Cingular totally sucks in Piscataway / Middlesex. I can't even use the phone in my house - have to stand outside to talk and still get only 1-2 bars.

ATT GSM now is shown as cingular. after it got converted to cingular, the voice quality just dropped like a rock of a cliff--down to the drain--at the freshmen dorm. however, it still works pretty well on most place on Rutgers's campuses. Cingular is still the best of the GSM provider on Busch campus. There is no difference on Livingston because there's a tower so every carrier has strong signal. Same thing on College Ave. Not sure about D / C because I don't usually go there. But if you're coming to live on Busch, get either Cingular or Verizon.

ATT GSM just got better here at RU freshmen dorm on Busch. after coming back from winter break, I can get much better signal in my room (BAMM) than before. maybe it's just because it's winter and there's no leaves to absorb radio signal. but anyways, I love my AT&T more now...

Great signal everywhere. It's bad at freshmen dorm, but it can roam onto Cingular with great reception.

Poor reception on campus. Phone often drops to analog and completely looses signals in building.

Spotty in my apartment, occasionally get dropped off. Spotty on Belmar Beach, and South Orange Area. Hit or miss, overall so I will try Cingular next.

Wondering whether it is the case for all the areas in NJ. But in Middlesex county, it sucks.

Am pretty happy with Sprint - I lose coverage at times in Marlboro, NJ and Holmdel, NJ. Inside building coverage is OK, but not as good as Verizon's.
