For years, my reception in this spot was poor and erratic. A few days ago I started getting consistent 5-bar reception. I think a new tower was set up nearby.

Something changed recently. We've lived in our home for over 9 years and have always had good reception. Recently we noticed that signal strength has been poor with lots of dropped calls. We got new phones and had major issue activating them because we could not get a signal without being in a very specific spot in our home. New phones did not help. Our guest complain about the same problem. We do not have any new wireless equipment in our home.

Cell phone reception is supposed to be "good" here, but is terrible in this area. Dropped calls and sometimes miss calls, people can't hear me etc. Reception better when I leave this area, but unpredictable. Calls to customer service unsatisfactory so far. Email, web browsing work great but I do need to make calls. Sprint TV is poor except right after I call customer service to complain - then it works for awhile. Haven't tried an airrave yet so don't know if that would help. They are out of stock anyway.

Completely erratic and sub-par at best around the house. Can't help thinking T-Mobile reception has got worse over the several years we've had it. Wherever I go I often hit places with no bars at all, when other people seem to be happily making cell phone calls. Not the phone, since everyone in my family has a different phone, mine being the only original issue one.

There is a brief dead spot for AT&T reception starting from intersection of great road and cherry valley road going south towards rt 206. It ends near the princeton academy. I travel through this route frequently and my active call always hungs up on me.

att coverage has gotten much worse over past 2 weeks. I had no problems almost anywhere but now no signal in rocky hill, on river road and montgomery ave. AT&T says no problems reported.

Verizon and AT&T have recently installed cell sites atop Fine Tower, a building on the Princeton University campus and probably the tallest building in Princeton. Cell service in Princeton should have improved dramatically as a result. I understand that Sprint and T-Mobile will also be installing cell sites in the same location very soon.

Reception is, in general, extremely poor. At the top floor in Feinberg, I can get some pretty decent reception (4-5 Bars) but when walking around campus, reception is very bad.

Tough to make and receive calls, especially inside the house. I almost feel like there's no point in having my cell phone anymore, since my husband (on our family plan) can't get ANY signal on the Princeton campus where he works.

I have poor to no reception in the Kendal Park South Brunswick area. There is absolutely no towers or reception on New Rd.with this Samsung camera phone. I am told that it is the phone not T-Mobil. Also, in many parts of Princeton. I hear there is a tower at the University but they will not allow it to be used.

Butler Apartments / E-Quad, Princeton, NJ 08540 Tue Oct 17, 2006

For some reason, there's near perfect reception in the Engineering building (Olden / Prospect Street). Even in the basement of the building, T-Mobile will get great reception, while my friends with Verizon do not. But in Butler Apartments only two blocks North-east, there is nearly no reception inside the apartments. If you step outside, OK! (2-3 bars) Inside, nope (0-2 bars). My friends with Verizon also go from full signal (5 bars) to 2-3 bars.

Reception for Verizon on campus got much better this year. I call always get a signal in the basement of the physics building while my friends can only use their T-Mobile phones upstairs.

Sometimes I can get a decent call through if I'm outside. Indoors can get any sort of service. Wish we could get some more towers for the out skirts of Princeton.

My phone cuts out by where princeton pike and Quakerbridge Rd meet, and again by the battlefield. My Nokia for Cingular used to cut out just by the intersection, but the sony z520a cuts out everywhere along princeton pike and many places on 206. Next move is either a switch back to Nokia or a carrier switch to Verizon.

Hibben Apartments, Princeton, NJ 08540 Wed Oct 26, 2005

Is it just me or has Verizon gone from best reception in Princeton to middle of the pack? I used to get cut off 10% of the time at Hibeen. These days, I almost always get cut off. The front of Hibben is better than the back, but anywhere indoors -- forget it. And I'm on the 7th floor. My T-Mobile romoates have been doing better than me. I really hate cell phone reception in Princeton. I;d ditch my cell phone if my roomate was willing to pay for 1 / 2 of a landline.... and if Verizon didn't "own" me for 2 years...

New Graduate College, Princeton, NJ 08544 Thu Oct 06, 2005

Works perfectly outside, but only the almighty and the fire marshall know what material these bunkers called New Graduate College are built out of, for the walls serve as perfect shielding for cellphone reception. When inside the cellphone should be left on the window-sill or else the incoming calls do not reach me. That also means that when talking on cellphone I cannot even step one feet into the room in the fear of losing the connection, and have to hug the window. Again, works perfectly outside wherever I went.
