Signal quality is irregular. Sometimes acceptable, but frequently drops calls or drops to poor quality. Seldom get a 3G connection

Generally, and consistently, I receive NO reception on my phone here--all over the house as well as in the yard. I generally have to check for messages via a land line, or reboot my phone to see if a message will come through. Otherwise, they don't appear until (sometimes) a couple hours after I have left the Teaneck area. Once in a while text messages come through immediately.

I know for a fact that the reception is bad in this area of Teaneck because the community has so far successfully fought the erection of cel phone towers along route 4 near the high school. I am a resident in this area, and have opposed the tower(s), so I'll take the resulting lousy reception. My Garmin GPS Navigation device also cannot find initial satellite reception in a lot of Teaneck. The state will eventually overrule on the grounds of public safety, if it hasn't happened already. Such is life. The wheels of progress will eventually roll over us all, and tell us it's for our own good.

I used to live in Bogota, and now have moved to Teaneck. I work in Weehawken, by the Hudson. In travelling around town, commuting to work, and visiting Manahattan, I have had virtually no problems with signal strength or dropped calls, generally having full bars. There have been some few times when incoming calls have not rung through, but gone directly to voicemail. This has been very rare though. Apparently, "The Network" allowing me and other Verizon customers to "hear me now" is pretty stable. Sadly, their customer support, billing honesty and integrity, and choice of phones has not been very good for me so I am probably switching upon contract end.

I get no reception whatsoever in my house and in my front and backyard. I go to school in Pennslyvania and as soon as I pass Cedar Lane going towards Rt.4 my service fades and then completely loses signal

Cingular is inconsistent. Most of the time, I have around 4 / 5 bars. However, the numbers fluctuate constantly. Even if I have 3 bars, the number may plummet to zero within seconds, and the call is lost. Generally, service is crisp and solid. Most of my peers have Verizon, so I am often blamed for any dropped calls. For this area, I believe most have Verizon. It's probably the reliable choice.

Reception is generally good throughout Teaneck but there are spots where it goes down to one bar. There don't appear to be any dead spots.
