I think all cell companies have forgotten TR. I am paying for a brick every month. My 3GS only works in NYC and once out of Toms River, it slightly improves.

Went up to visit family this past week and things must have changed a lot since the previous reviews posted for the area. I never once had less than a full signal or lost a call. Great coverage... ignore the other reviews

I have great outdoor reception in Toms River, where I live, but 0-1 bars along Rt 571 to Rt 70 and beyond. This is with the TDMA (none GSM) service. I get absolutely no reception inside the Prime Time Cafe in TR, but my friend with Verizon does. I'm not sure whether to try Cingular's GSM service, or switch to Verizon.

Since the merge in Nov with ATT, Cingular has greatly increased in all areas giving me almost perfect reception everywhere. Even where nothin worked in my house behind the Wawa on Fischer and Bay, now I get three bars. I tried Nextel. Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. All here and all completley dead.

Cingular after two years finally tells me your area is sub grade. I could have told them that. Most areas are bad in Toms River, either no signal or a strong signal and still no communication. They say the AT&T buyout will help in November. Will see. By the way my phones are GAIT phones and work or should I say don't work on both TDMA and GSM.
