There are various dead spots along Colfax Road, between Hamburg Turnpike and Terhune Drive. A call can instantly drop if you are talking and pass through one of these dead spots. In addition, there are stretches of Alps Rd.(between Rt 23 North and Ratzer Rd.where dead spots are encountered. My wife and I will not attempt to call out if we are on Alps Road. I sent emails to AT&T and spoke to their Technical Support Dept (opened a case) and I was told (after a few days of investigation) that "nothing was wrong". What they meant was there were no hardware failures or tower issues. They did not address the over-arching dead spot issue. This was unfortunate and will most likely hasten my departure from ATT to Verizon when the iPhone 5 becomes available.

Signal is so poor almost all kids on campus switch to another carrier. Having a Sprint or Virgin Mobile phone on the William Paterson University campus is borderline useless. Sprint and Virgin Mobile are losing customers rapidly since this major location does not have coverage so students, professors, and nearby residents HAVE to switch carriers. I plan to switch from T-Mobile to Verizon as soon as my service plan comes due in two months. I don't like T-Mobile their customer service sucks. I was hoping they would be finally go out of business, as the rumors were saying so I could get out of my service, but no such luck yet, at least they are now being purchased by AT&T. You deserve it. I hate T-Mobile... just try calling their customer service for a billing question... they suck.

I cancelled my T-Mobile cell service (I don't like how they are forcing their cell towers in residential areas... so I tell everyone to switch to Verizon). Verizon gives me the best service and I no longer have dropped calls. Even in a remote area in Herkimer NY that I go to and could never get T-Mobile service from I get great service from Verizon. I am very happy with my Verizon service. I've never had a problem with my Verizon phone in Wayne NJ or the surrounding areas either. Switch to Verizon!

We have no problems with Verizon in this area of Wayne. However inside of the Stop and Shop on Hamburg Tpk., we cannot get reception in the back of the store by the milk / dairy area. Otherwise our Verizon carrier works fine in Wayne.

Packanack lake is horrible, zero bars all over the place in there and hamburg turnpike has spots with zero bars as well. Someone mentioned the Sprint tower behind greenhouse cafe, why cant Verizon put something there. Mother is satisfied but I am ready to switch. two to four bars at home for voice but always only one bar of evdo at home and in most places.

Lots of dropped calls. I am changing back to TMobile. Apparently a new tower will go up in the Spring of 2010 to provide better service.

I get good reception via Verizon on my Motorola W385 and RAZR phones. Normally I can receive / send calls from inside my home and office. There some some reduction in signal inside.

Excellent! Love it... Had T-Mobile, was just below decent but now I love the AT&T. Never a dropped call. - The best thing is I just love how everyone in this town has Verizon but it doesn't work for anyone, as you can see by everyone else. Hello? Why do you stick with a Carrier that doesn't work. Plus GSM is so much better. Don't hestiate get AT&T as soon as possible, please do yourself a favor.

Can only get one bar of reception in / out of house and will frequently drop the calls when home. Can not get reception at Tom's Lake - calls are dropped there too. Hope the rumor is true that they are considering putting a tower on the water tower on Jackson Ave. Maybe this will solve the problem. Don't know why the tower at the Greenhouse didn't solve it. Did Verizon go onboard?

Had Verizon, never got reception. Asked Verizon sales person what to do, they said go to Cingular. There is a new tower going on line at Valley and Preakness, right behind city hall. Things should dramatically improve after that.

Absolutely no reception around this area. Usually have to drive a few miles out to get a dependable signal... wish they would put in a tower somewhere near here.

There is absolutely no reception within Packanack Lake! Once you leave Route 23 and drive into the "valley" you loose your call. Would love it if a tower was put in like Nextel / Sprint did by The Greenhouse!

This is the best service provider in the wayne Nj area have tried everything and ended up going back to Nextel !

NO reception at my daughters school and the public library. Also, no reception or spotty reception on parts of valley road.

Fine reception, SOMETIMES, it takes 5-15 seconds to dial a number and every once and a while, it just won't dial causing me to cancel and try again, but all and all the service works great. Dropped calls are a rarity, maybe happening once every 2-3 weeks. I work in a foodstore and spend most my time in the back room in a huge metal box refridgearator and I can get service about halfway into the box before I loose it.

Good Luck. Reception varies from place to place and time to time. It is IMPOSSIBLE to walk from one side of the campus to the other with a Sprint cell phone and not drop the call at least once.
