Patchy service despite phone indicating perfect reception. Sometimes it works fine, more often completely dead even in a location where it has worked fine before. This may or may not be AT&T's fault--I'm starting to think it might be interference rather than low signal. We are directly on the river so possibly some kind of marine radar or anti-terrorism sensor is screwing up our coverage. Will try T-Mobile to see if it works better.

calls get dropped sometimes, sometimes cannot hear the other person clearly. sometimes phone does not ring. overall - definitely unsatisfactory.

I have complained T-Mobile about 10 times in the past 4 years, every time I've been told they are working on it. It is a disgrace that in the greatest metro area in the world we got a second class wireless network. No one associated with T-Mobile is happy with their service in NJ nor NYC.

Bad reception inside and outside

I can't believe some of the reviews, it looks like Cingular employees are posting reviews here. I switched to T-Mobile and the service is awesome. My Cingular service sucked so I tested T-Mobile and Verizon both of which have excellent coverage. I chose T-Mobile, lower cost per minute. Cingular is not raising the bar here!

If you move your head, the call is lost. You have to learn where in each room to stand. It always loses reception going around several sharp curves on Blvd.East.

Cell phone sometimes has 5 bars, but as soon as the phone rings the call is lost. The phone rarely works in my apartment... about 1 out of 4 calls are received and usually drop within the first 3 minutes. An incoming text messages can take up to an hour to register due to the service.

I live at the Galaxy. Sprint almost NEVER works in my home

Very lousy service in this area.

Reception bounces up and down. Calls tend to drop out more often than none. Very frustrating when making important or long distance calls.

Works everywhere. Only drops in Parks in fringe areas.

Get behind a tree and you loose reception. Manhattan 1/4 mail east across the river has no problem.
