Verizon added a cell tower somewhere downtown a few months ago, and now I get 5 bars throught town.

I believe it's official, Cingular Wireless service works "all over" Westfield NJ! GREAT!

Cingular you get the best reception in Westfield. I have had Verizon (one to two bars, with a good wind three), Nextel (one to three bars), Sprint (one bar-never worked). If you want to use the phone you pay for, I would get Cingular.

4 bars outside the house, facing north. 3 bars on the south side of the house. 3 bars on the north window ledge. 0 in the center, 1-2 in the southern side rooms. But the phone keeps a good quality connection. No drops even while moving through the house.

In the house I consistently have only 1-2 bars on my phone which drains the battery at a faster clip, makes for so-so call reception and occasional delayed receipt / sending of text messages. Reception is much better in the center of town but given that I spend 95% of my time at the house...

In the vicinity of South Ave,Downer,Westbroad Street. The resption just plain SUCKS. I am returning the phone as its still within the 15 day trial. Going back to my old phone. Never had reception trouble with it. This was not an upgrade for me,just a head ache.

Very weak signal in the Westfield downtown area and any area just north of downtown. Travel to the south, east, or west, the signal becomes significantly stronger. Tech support mentioned that a new tower was scheduled to be placed at Westfield Police station in the 4th quarter of 2005. I have yet to see it there!

You can barely get a signal at all in downtown Westfield. Whenever I use my cell phone I have to walk up and down the street until I get a signal.

No reception indoors. Have to run out to the street to get reception from Verizon. Spotty coverage around town. No reception at home is a major drawback.
