For all you Sprint cry babies out there Sprint now has the first wave of LTE in Albuquerque, go to the surround streets near the airport, montano and coors, and downtown area all have been reported and I personally have took my device there and yes Sprint is slowly turning on one tower once it's complete. I talked to centurylink and Sprint officials, now the whole 4G LTE upgrade will be fully complete in June 2014 and this will include the ABQ metro area! Sprint is currently broadcasting in 1900ghz LTE band 41 signal.

After looking at the Sprint coverage map for Albuquerque Westside, I can see why the service is so bad--there are only two towers covering Cottonwood Mall and south to I-40. Also, there are rumors going around about Sprint upgrading their ABQ service to LTE, but that is not in the forseeable future. Most of what ABQ is seeing now is 3G 'equipment upgrades' which probably equates to installing the newer equipment from the LTE upgrades in other states to ABQ. If you decide to purchase a VM phone or Sprint service, and live on West-side, make sure you keep your 30 day return receipt and note phone and data reliability. My experience has been marginal to bad, but I already spent over $1,000 for three phones, which apparently can't be switched to any other service--even though I paid for them. Arrgh.

Switched from Verizon because of plan cost and data limitations to Virgin Mobile, about two years ago. Initially, VM signal at my house was marginal, but useable. The low signal caused the phone battery to last only a day. When I have been out of town, in Phoenix or San Francisco, the Sprint network there is great, and the phone battery lasts two to three days. In the last few months, phone coverage on the West side has gotten substantially worse. There are times when phone just won't work from my house at all. The phone might show 3 or 4 bars, but it won't connect a call. Not sure what is going on. Hopefully, Sprint is in the process of upgrading towers to LTE, which is the rumor. Not going to stick with VM, which has a 'reasonable' cost for 300 minutes talk, and unlimited text and data for $30 / mo, much longer if service doesn't get better.

I've been with Cricket for about 8 years. When I first started with them, they were the only cell phone carrier that offered unlimited talk time. When smart phones came out, they added unlimited text and data, no contract required. I don't travel around the city as much as I once did, but two of my friends stop by, one has Verizon and the other has Sprint and I am frequently he only one with any bars. The other big attraction is that my bill is lower than either one of theirs. My friends both plan to change when their contracts are finished.

T-Mobile is the WORST! I tried calling 911 three times to report a dangerous situation on the interstate. I had 4 bars and the first 2 calls to 911 were dropped. I called T-Mobile to file a complaint and find out what was wrong and they were useless. I finally had to file a complaint with the FCC. That says it all!

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Dec 16, 2013 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- --4G LTE now in 300 markets across the country --Sprint Spark boosts mobile peak speeds up to 60 Mbps This year Sprint S -4.42% set the stage for a dynamic 2014 with significant network improvements on behalf of its business customers and consumers. The company's achievements were punctuated by the launch of Sprint Spark(TM), a network capability that uses three spectrum frequencies to deliver peak 4G LTE wireless data speeds of 50-60Mbps. Sprint Spark is also expected to deliver significantly improved call quality and clarity as it rolls out HD Voice. Sprint's 2013 progress is further highlighted by today's announcement of the introduction of LTE in 70 new markets, which includes Green Bay, Wis; Orlando, Fla; San Diego; and St. Louis, bringing the total number of LTE markets to 300. These advances are made possible because of the continued rollout of Sprint's Network Vision program in 2013, which includes a complete upgrade of the 3G network and deployment of 4G LTE. As part of that program, Sprint is redeploying its 800MHz spectrum for LTE and 3G with the goal of delivering improved in-building coverage for voice and data. "In 2013, we made major improvements across our 3G and 4G LTE network," said Bob Azzi, chief network officer. "In the growing number of markets where the upgrades are nearly complete, our customers are noticing. Re-engineering our entire network has been a big undertaking, but now it's delivering tangible benefits to our customers. With the announcement of Sprint Spark, the increasing availability of 4G LTE and the improvements we have made to our voice network, we're full speed ahead for 2014." These network improvements are designed to serve the immediate and future needs of customers who, using Sprint's market-leading unlimited data, text and calling plans, are constantly embracing new ways to communicate. With the future in mind, Sprint completed a number of corporate and technical milestones during 2013, including: -- The Clearwire acquisition, which makes Sprint Spark possible by providing access to contiguous 2.5GHz spectrum that enables a powerful combination of speed and capacity uniquely suited for data. -- The acquisition of spectrum from U.S. Cellular, which significantly increases network capacity in key Midwest markets. -- The introduction of HD Voice and a target of covering 85 million POPs by the end of 2013. -- The deployment of in-building systems at key stadiums, airports, concert venues, etc. -- The transition of iDEN business and government customers to Sprint's 3G CDMA network. Sprint 4G LTE is now available in 300 markets, including today's additions: -- Abbeville, La. -- London, Ky. -- Albany, Ga. -- Louisville, Ky. -- Albertville, Ala. -- Lubbock, Texas -- Amsterdam, N.Y. -- Madison, Wis. -- Appleton, Wis. -- Manitowoc, Wis. -- Augusta, Ga. -- Michigan City, Ind. -- Bartlesville, Okla. -- Muskegon / Norton Shores, Mich. -- Big Spring, Texas -- New Iberia, La. -- Birmingham, Ala. -- Orangeburg, S.C. -- Boise City, Idaho -- Orlando, Fla. -- Branson, Mo. -- Ottawa, Ill. -- Bremerton, Wash. -- Panama City / Lynn Haven / Panama City -- Brunswick, Ga. I have to say Sprint has improved on cell coverage dropped calls are decressing and call quality improving data is intermitent ran several speed tests around ABQ some parts of ABq get 33kbps but in my area and work area I'm getting 1.45mbps down.89 mbps u. And work area near montgomery and wyoming I'm getting 2.89 to 3.56 mbps down and 1.89 mbps up which is a.HUGE improvment on 3G data been informed ABQ should see LTE on the east side of the river by mid febuaray to Mid March and the rest of the city and metro area will follow by the Sprint store on coors near i40. Due to this 4g lte upgrade of installing new network vision towers and upgrading and installing new equipment on legacy towers which causes 3g disruption, dropped calls and poor call quality Sprint is giving me and other people on Sprint compesation by crediting my bill 25 dollars which makes my monthly amount lower. Bill has never changed n I've had a 8 / 10 experience with sprint. Will suggest them to anyone just dont get with Verizon they are a nightmare from hell.

I regret leaving Sprint for verizon, I'm getting frequent dropped calls, texts dont go through, and 4g lte is no where to be found near bernalillo, my bill has gone up, I have roaming charges and they wont credit or fix my bill, they said 4g lte will be also in gallup and roswell where I travel I go through dead zones from clines corners to roswell along 285 and i40 from abq to gallup service is spotty. I know one things for sure Verizon DOES NOT HAVE UNLIMTED DATA!seriously 8gb a month and throttle speeds thats not unlimted. Come tax returns porting back to Sprint and leaving Verizon behind! Wont suggest Verizon to anyone! Get Sprint, AT&T or Tmobile.

Our Company recently dropped Sprint. We had over 50 phones that were used throughout NM. The coverage area was horrible! We switched to Verizon and I am happy to say that we have not had any issues and the coverage is great! Unfortunately, my family is still on a Sprint plan due to our contracts. We have been promised by Sprint that changes are coming. So far no changes... ... In fact, I am pretty sure that the coverage is getting worse! Sprint recently shipped us an Airave which helps at our house. As soon as we leave the house, its painful... . Hopefully Sprint picks it up soon. I cannot believe that anyone would support Sprint on this Forum!

I been with Sprint for 2 years now the service is great spotty in some areas I went to the Sprint store and asked why my service being spotty I'm ABQ to none and he showed me the tower I was feeding off of and what upgrades taking place, I seen 4g lte is being installed and calibrated and is 2 months away. I asked entire city he mentioned they need 20% of ABQ covered to turn on 4g lte. So far it's 16% of ABQ been installed he said. I moved here from Clovis and there 4g lte was insane, I had Verizon when I lived there and Verizon sucked!service was spotty and roaming all the time. Bill came and higher then they told Me, switched to Sprint and the service was a huge improvement and faster. Bill stayed the same with Sprint never roamed. I've had my days where Sprint is a pain in the ass. But service is good in store and ok over the phone. I'm gonna renew my contract cause I'm gotten a 91% in good I have expected with sprint. I feel sorry for Those who complain about them. Can't wait for 4g lte! Never will I go back to Verizon they over charge and are nothing but lies!

My service for the last 2 years has been much worse than people I know with other carriers. 2 to 3 bars usually right in town and sometimes 1x. Sprint has told me twice that 4G LTE service would be active here in the ABQ Metro area in a few weeks but that time has come and gone. Pretyy dissatisfied with the cellulasr service in Albuquerque, NM.

Great coverage anywhere inside of Albuquerque! And since they've added 4G LTE to the metro area, my data speeds are phenomenal! I honestly cannot believe anyone else would stay on a contract with a carrier that charges them up the wazoo for the same, if not worse, coverage than what I get, AND with unlimited unthrottled data!

Extremely dissatisfied with Sprint. Connection is slow or non-existent. Dropped calls on a daily basis. Tells me I'm "roaming" when I'm still within city limits of Albuquerque or Rio Rancho. WTF?

I have had Sprint for about 5 years, but when I moved from Missouri to Albuquerque, the service has been TERRIBLE! I use a lot of data on my phone so unlimited data is good. The speeds, however, render the phone virtually worthless. Since the S3 doesn't have a WiMax antenna in it, Sprint's "4G" doesn't work. Most places around ABQ, I can get 3G, but in other places (like driving across Lomas), it's 1x or nothing. I ended up buying a Verizon Jetpack Mi-Fi device just so I can get some use out of my phone. It's stupid that I would even have to consider doing something like that and carrying around a second device with me just so I can use my phone the way it's designed to be used. Not to mention, it's another bill that I shouldn't have to pay. Verizon 4G speeds are wonderful. Sprint, meanwhile, charges $10 / month / phone for their "Superior Wireless Experience" fee. I have never once had a "Superior Wireless Experience" and it is absurd that that's what they are charging every user $10 / month / phone for. I called Sprint to have them take off the $10 fee from our phones. They gave me a 1-time credit of $20, but I still am required to pay the fee every month. Forget watching NetFlix on your device or even a freaking YouTube video. Sprint data in ABQ is the absolute worst. -Rick

I have been with Sprint for about eight months and am extreme dissatisfied. Text is always fine but calling is spotty and the data speed is a joke. What is the point of having unlimited if I can't even load a web page. I was told by Sprint that they will have 4g by October. They better because I'm about ready to bail and go with someone else.
