i have had Sprint for 5 years and I live in the 87109 and 87111 areas - I have never had problems with my Sprint service... .. fyi whoever commented on Wyoming and Paseo del Norte - look at the building on the SE corner of that intersection... .. ALL cell phone coverage is blocked to an extent in that area due to that building. I am not going to say what the building is, but anybody who lives in that area is familiar with it.

I am constantly getting dropped calls in my neighborhood, and Cingular got us for a two year contract. When our contract is up in April, I'm switching to Verizon!

I personally get this type of reception all over the city of Abq, NM. I've only rec'd bad spots around Lead / Coal and Garrard SE which has been like this since U.S.West Cellular has had analog svc back in 1994 ! Oh yes, I still get dead spots in these same areas!

Reception in most of the Los Ranchos area is nonexistant due to the fact that the village covenants prohibit any towers. Since I live and work in that area, it makes life very difficult at times. Oddly enough, I have great reception at my house (the only reason I keep this service.) Down the street from my house, there is none. Many places in and around Albuquerque are very sketchy. Everyone in my family has Sprint so that makes it hard to change but when my contract is up, I will seriously be looking at something else.

Verizon is a great serivice. I highly recommend it. However, there is an east-west band of bad reception from Glenwood Hills (east of Tramway on Manitoba) down to Juan Tabo NE. My house, my office and my kid's school are all in this bad area. My calls drop very frequently when I am in this area. In the rest of Albuquerque and across the nation, it is almost always reliable in my experience (except in fringe areas) I would recommend Verizon to anyone who lives in New Mexico and travels outside of the urban areas (such as they are).

Ever since they moved the road we have a new "dead" zone! So much for talking on your phone and driving at the same time.

I can get as many as 5 bars and the phone claims it cannot find the network. It's a self-inflicted denial of service having Sprint for a carrier; my wife has no trouble with T-Mobile. My Sprint contract runs out this month and I am firing them. I want a Treo 650, but if I have to have Sprint, no thanks.

Sprint signal is often lost, and usually get a message indicating that you are roaming. Sprint admitted that a hole exist in the area, but only said they would eventually add towers.

I work with many other T-Mobile customers and half the time I can hear them and they can't hear me. Customer care for T-Mobile is more inept and unintelligent than Q-West.

I have been with T-Mobile close to a year and have to say they have the crappiest phone reception. I went from AT&T only to get worse service. Beleive it or not I have actually had to stand on my toilet seat to get phone service when it's raining. It's constantly dropping calls.

I have had Sprint for some time now and have had constant issue with my bill and reception. The 87109 and 87111 area codes get absolutely horrible reception, and not just on my phone! It is constantly dropping my calls, and not always in just those areas. They mess my bill up a lot also.

I have had VoiceStream / T-Mobile for eight years and have been pretty darn happy with the reception as well as the service( except for once when they screwed up and would not take ownership). Anyway, I convinced my partner to switch from another plan that she was dissatisfied with over to T-Mobile. Since she did so over a year ago we have slowly found our reception to be getting consistantly worse. Now that we have moved to Nob Hill our reception is the worst it can possibly be. Our phones don't even work in our house! I mean we actually pay for unlimited nights and weekends which would take place at home but this is not even possible on the Ericsson and very spotty on the Nokia. I don't know if this is the same for everyone in the neighborhood but a friend with the same phone and sevice 2 blocks east of here has the same lousy service. After 5 months of calls to the service center T-Mobile told my partner that they can no longer help and that she should get a new carrier. So were shopping a new carrier.

Cingular reception is very, very poor in most of Albuquerque. When I moved to Albuquerque I was lodged in a hotel for 5 weeks during which time I signed up with Cingular. The reception in the hotel area was OK during my 30 days trial period. After I moved to an apartment I found the phone useless. No bar at all. No reception from home. Cingular refused to allow me to break the 2 yeasr contract, saying I should pay a $300 penalty. A contract is a 2 way deal. I pay Cingular for the services I receive. While I receive NO services, they still insist I should pay my bills for 2 years or pay $300. This is OUTRAGEOUS and a scam / rip off by Cingular. I wrote to their CEO about this, and I advise all Ciongular ripped-off customers to do the same. Lets see if that helps !
