I travel across US with my Sprint Phone, I did not have any problem at all during my visit to NM, great reception... no dropped calls... love my Sprint Phone... .
I work with many other T-Mobile customers and half the time I can hear them and they can't hear me. Customer care for T-Mobile is more inept and unintelligent than Q-West.
My wife and I recently purchased two (brand new) Samsung E 315's and we both had horrible reception. We have been with T-Mobile for 6 years and have never had a problem with any other phones (Nokia, Samsung, Motorolla). The Samsung E 315 constantly drops calls, and it's almost impossible to have a conversation without repeating oneself. This was supposed to be a phone "upgrade"... so far, it has been one big headache. The people at T-Mobile are completely unwilling to solve this problem. Their only attempt to remedy this situation is to sell us a more expensive phone.
About a year ago I had great reception with Alltel. I had good reception everywhere I went, including my apartment. Over the past year my reception has gotten very poor in the Old Town area where I live and. Rural areas where I frequently travel now have no service at all, but previously provided good service. I hate being contractually tied to a phone service that is no longer functioning as it was when I signed the contract.
I used Verizon for years with no problems then switched to Quest (Sprint) and now calls are dropped all the time and it enters "roaming" at random. I will switch back to Verizon.
I'm in roaming here! And Sprint charges for roaming. Coverage in general has been good with Sprint for past 5 years. Considering changing companies because on a recent trip to southeastern oklahoma and arkansas I was always in roaming. Friends with alltell had coverage.
When I first bought a cell phone I chose Sprint. My initial interaction with Sprint was excellent. No dropped calls, no billing issues. The last two to three years with Sprint have been Hell. When I first started getting dropped calls in my living room I thought it must be the phone. So I changed phones but the calls continued to drop. My original Sprint phones had real antennas that you would pull up and out of the phones. The newer models all have their antennas built into the handset with no extension. These are the cell phones I have had this trouble with. Does anyone know if there is a difference in reception on the Westside using the two different phones? Sprint service does not have a clue.
Qwest service is mediocre at best. I roam all over Albuquerque. I hunt and fish and go off of the beaten path and never get service. Now this would not be a big deal and is expected but when I go with family and friends who have a different service they have coverage and I don't. I don't recommend Qwest if you are going to base your decision on reception.
