No reception in my house. Sometimes I can make a call and in the same spot "No Service" a half hour later. Sometimes the phone doesn't ring and then wallah, 2 voice mails... Service drops and gets staticky walking 10 feet in the wrong direction if on a call. A lame way to use such a beautiful phone. In the backyard 2 out out of 5 bars... Yikes this sucks. I wish I knew. Works well near their store of course. Maybe they will eventually rent bandwidth from a downtown area tower. My Sprint Razor get full bars in both the same locations. Pretty weak.

State Wide, Santa Fe, NM 87501 Sun Jul 16, 2006

I've built out most of the major wireless networks in this state. Alltel has invested the most $$ early on, so they have the superior network, besides the Socorro area, they do not own the NM3 frequency. Analog is going away in late 06', but the majority of the analog sites have been upgraded to digital. T-mobile, Sprint / Nextel and Verizon are close seconds. Verizon and T-Mobile have kept upgrading their networks slowly over the years, which has improved their networks. Sprint / Nextel had a big push two years ago, but slowing down now. I'm currently working on the Cingular network. They have turned on 100 new sites in the last year, another 100 in development currently. Stay tuned, they will be competing soon. They roam with Platue and Commnet in the N. and SE. part of the state. These roaming partners have mediocre networks, we hope they will reclaim these areas and install their own network, about 100 sites. The only complaint I have in this state is Santa Fe! What are you guys smoking over there? It's almost impossible to develop anything, people think we are trying to implant micro chips and broadcast conservative brain washing. My solution is for all the wireless carries just cut you off. How do you like the reception now! This area is growing very fast and is supported by a sub-par network due to ignorance of its residents. You cant talk on you cell driving unless its hands free, so I have a docking station for my PDA, now I can surf the net while driving, good thing I'm looking down and not holding the phone up to my ear and looking forward. You people really frustrate me! I won't even start with Taos and Madrid, they should go back to smoke signals... .. Next time you see someone apposing a new cell site, please give your support to the cell phone company. Were trying to give you reception, but the hypocrisy is the only thing expanding, or is it ignorance? Each of these carriers has spent over $200 - $300 million in this state, they bring a lot of $$ into the state but the opposition is tremendous. I don't see anyone apposing the Labs and the weapons / hazards they develop. Out... ... ...

Reception at home (near Cerrillos and Rufina) is horrible. Sometimes my phone shows a decent signal, but I still cannot call out or receive incoming calls. Other times I just have no signal. Occasionally, everything works well. Some areas of Santa Fe I always have good signal, although many call still don't come through-I don't know someone has called until I get a signal that I have voice mail. Also, I lose signal traveling short distances from Santa Fe in almost any direction. My daughter has the same phone and carrier, and has even worse problems.

bought my i-phone last Friday Aug 27 -- ready to return it after trying to get a signal (service) all weekend. ATT is at fault but why didn't Apple alert me to the fact that I would have no service in Santa Fe? I bought the iPhone based on the ATT service map on their website. I believe this to be false advertising. Why am I not surprised at ATT -- but Apple? I am a big Apple supporter: 3 computers and an iPad plus I own stock in the company -- very disappointed guy here

I have full bars in the city of Santa Fe ALL the time. I have had coverage in remote wooded / mountain areas like Bandelier and the Santa Fe Ski basin I have coverage in rural areas like Cerrillos, New Mexico, although maybe 2-3 bars in that situation. Everyone once in a blue moon I may lose a call but I feel that it because the parties I am calling are in the U.S. Virgin Islands and the problem is on their end, and not mine. I have no idea whether its the phone or the provider, but this is incredible service.

Generally we have good reception, however it can be weak and spotty. Nationwide there is few dead areas all the way from Santa Fe through the midwest. One big problem, Qwest sold out to Verizon which has very poor reception in the Santa Fe area including our home area just outside of the city limits. Also, we pay the same price for less minutes. Can you say price increase!
