Calls are frequently dropped and often are treated as roaming even though I am close to I-40 / 98th. No choice but to find new provider. Change the cellular model from evo to photon is the best thing that has happened. 5 bars

I consistently get 4-5 bars in the city of Santa Fe and I get reliable 3G Sprint service.

I live part-time in the Sangre Cristo foothills and Sprint sucks. I'm dumping them as soon as my contract expires in April. My wife has a Blackberry on Verizon and gets much better reception in the house. My likely next phone: Nexus One on Verizon. Love iPhones, hate AT&T (also got no reception in my house).

At this location (home) I rarely get more than 2 bars -- but reception is OK if I sit upright in my chair. If I'm at floor level, the call breaks up! (Seriously: I dropped something, bent over to pick it up, and all of a sudden the person on the other end couldn't hear me.) For all you people complaining about reception cutting out along such-and-such a highway: This is probably Mother Nature's way of telling you to STFU and drive.

I got no reception in most of Santa Fe. Tried to cancel service and was treated very rudely. Charged several hundred dollars to cancel. Sprint is a horrible company.

After trying 3 other cell providers, Sprint was the only one that worked from our house. The signal disappears at certain known points along our home street and along the road to Los Alamos but works well between our home and Albuquerque. There has been a worrysome increase in the number of places where we previously got good Sprint reception that now only have service via the dreaded "Digital Roam". Most visitors with other providers do not get any service at our home. Nextel (a Sprint affiliate) seems to be the only other provider to work at our home.

Just commenting that their coverage drops out completely while ascending or decending the hill just north of Santa Fe on US 84 / 285. It goes from very strong to zero and my calls are almost always dropped.
