Wow. I was disappointed because since I moved here a little over a month ago, I'd had like 2-3 dropped calls total. I make a LOT of calls, by the way. I was getting on this website to see what the best carrier in the area was. So far, after reading a few pages of reviews, there's NO WAY I'm switching from Alltel. I've been with them for years. I traveled the nation with a security company. I'd never had any dropped calls anywhere with Alltel until I moved out here. I've only had a couple and they were all in places that, I suppose, it should be expected. If you're having trouble with your cell, give Alltel a try. I was kinda hoping that ATT was good in Vegas because I want an iPhone. I guess I'll just have to settle for a blackberry.
With Alltel and Nokia, the coverage has been great in greater Las Vegas and Henderson. When traveling into parts of CA and AZ, friends with Verizon had no service, yet Alltel did. The phone can certainly make a big difference on reception. I think Alltel has great roaming agreements for great coverage.
I am very impressed with reception in this area. Alltel's roaming agreements have provided for great coverage in areas where Verizon has failed, like driving south into CA and AZ. It has held calls in / around the airport where others have dropped. I am very pleased. It is important to have a phone with a good resume for reception too.
Lived in this area for just over four years. Have had Verizon, poor, T-mobile, poor and for the past year an AT&T iPhone 3G. Very poor reception. Needless to say, the iPhone really is only good for data via my home Wi-Fi set up.
Lousy freaking reception because AT&T is too cheap to put up more Cell Towers in the neighborhood. We call this area "The Dead Zone" because your AT&T phone is worthless!
Unlike some places I have gone or lived in Las Vegas, the reception in the house actually works with seldom a dropped call. Unfortunate that ATT does not work in the rampart casino. Sprint seems to be the only carrier that works in the bowels of the casino. Otherwise I like ATT. Resonable coverage and does not pull features from the phones like most of the other carriers (except the iPhone - BOO ATT)
