Internet works less than half of the time. It is supposed to be 4g, but half of the time I do have internet(less than one fourth of a day if my math is sound!) it is lousy 3g. I also am almost always at one bar. It tends to improve upon venturing a few miles farther into the city, but on the south eastern edge it really blows.

Reception varies from no bars to 1 bar and if you do make a call it is usually dropped. Verizon acknowledges this is a weak service area but won't do anything about it except try to get you to switch plans or get a new phone. But if you get a new phone and it doesn't work, they will still charge you a restocking fee. Sounds like a scam to me since the technical people at Verizon tell me it doesn't matter what phone you use, their will be an issue. Bottom line, don't trust the Verizon Customer Service people.

Verizon acknowledges they have a weak service area, but won't do anything about the issue. Customer service tired to tell me I needed a new plan, which has nothing to do with the reception. They want me to "try" a new phone, but will still charge me a restocking fee if the new phone doesn't work. The technical people at Verizon tell me the phones aren't to blame, but yet the customer service people aren't on the same page and only care about upgrading you to a new plan or phone. They will still charge a "restocking" fee if the new phone doesn't work at your home which doesn't seem right.

Just moved into a new house. From my second story I can see Red Rocks to the west and the tops of hotels on the strip to the east. I have two Blackberries and two LG's. I am lucky to get 1 to 2 bars of service. When I do get a call, it cuts out within a minute. Verizon acknowledges the area has poor service. They gave me three options. 1) Cancel my service. 2) Wait three months for a possible tower upgrade. 3) Pay $250 for a VoiP network extender for my house. I filed an FCC complaint yesterday

I have to agree with the previous comments about Verizon in this area. I can't make a call out of my own home. I have to go outside if I get a call and hope it works or let it go to voice mail. I constantly have data troubles too. My commitment is over and I am not searching for a new carrier. AT&T seems to work in my neighborhood from what I can tell.

I travel daily between the northwest and northeast corners of the city and rarely have troubles with connecting (though there is a brief spot somewhere on Lamb between Craig and 215 where I tend to go dark). No complaints for Verizon's service. There is the occasional hiccup, of course, but if it does drop calling again results in perfect quality. It was kinda scary driving to Phoenix, though; a large portion of that drive is no service land.

Verizon coverage is terrible in most of the Pueblos. There seem to be no towers in this corridor. As soon as I turn off Lake Mead or Vegas Drive, phone begins to blank out, along with applications like Slacker, Pandora, etc. Standing in front of my home, my signal is around -102 to -110 dBm. Unacceptable. Friends that have AT&T seem to be able to make calls just fine from INSIDE my home! To be beaten by AT&T is ludicrous!

Verizon... what a joke. I lived in Northern nevada and had no problems with Verizon, and then I move to SoNev and experience at least 5-10 dropped calls a day. Even when I stand in one place, I can actual watch the reception bars on the phone rise and fall until service is droppped completely. How many important calls have I been on that dropped??? Too many to count. My new motto: Drop Verizon before it drops you!

I have to stay in a certain room in my house just to make calls. When outside in the neighborhood driving or walking, I have to stop to make a call. What's the use of having a cell when you can't use it wherever needed. The sad part is that there is a Verizon Tower not more than 2 miles from my neighborhood and the signal stinks.

I've had Verizon for about 10 years now and when I lived below Nellis Blvd.the reception was awsome and is anywhere in town. When I moved to the area of said school, I get little to no reception as I walk from room to room in my house. Also when I drive or walk around by neighborhood it's spotty at best. Once I get past, east of, Nellis Blvd.I could stay on the phone for hours and never loose the signal or drop the call unless I go back up towards my house. I have called Verizon tons of times during the 5 years I've lived in that area and they say the same thing every time, it's your phone. Well, it's not because my wife has a brand new RAZR and it does it too. There is a site at the top of the hill but for some reason the signal stinks. I thought of buying a repeater for the house but, what about when I'm out in the car or walking the neighborhood. Oh well.

Christmas Day, the most important day, Verizon desides to give me a "all circuits are busy" signal and the text messages / voice mails I tried to send out x-mas morning don't get received by friends until the next day. Not only that, I only have 1x of service at the house. Not only this, but carrying insurance got me a refurbished phone where I have to press the up button really hard to go up on my contacts list. Luckly, no longer on a contract and from this site, looks like Cingular has the most towers in the area. Although I had Cingular before, Cingular never gave me as many negatives (over positives) as Verizon has.

I get very poor reception at home, 1 bar if I'm lucky. I called a Verizon tech to see what they could do about it. I was told Verizon knew about the poor reception area around Hollywood and Washington and had no plans to do anything about it. There should be a law stating when a cell phone company shows you a reception / coverage map that is must show known dead zones too.

I have had constant dropped calls for 2 years. Cell to land line, cell to cell, cell to other cell carrier, in home or accross country... it doesn't make a difference... sometimes have to make 6 phone calls to finish a conversation. Had one of the phones replaced 3 x with no better results. Verizon would not work with me in replacing the phones, even though I offered to pay the difference. They just insisted that I shell out another $300 for new phones to see if that corrected the problem. Verizon customer serivce is supposed to be the tops... wrong! Goodby and good riddance is all I have to say!

I called Verizon due to the fact that I get absolutely no service up here on any of my Verizon phones (V3M, Q, and a Nokia Pay-As-You Go). They sent my complaint to a technician that came out and did a reading for signal strength near my house, and the tech came back and said that it was bad and that Verizon had no plans in the near future to puta tower up in this area and that I'm SOL if I want to stay with them. Easy out on my contract, so I took it. Going to Cingular since they get pretty decent service up here.

I have had Verizon for 2 years now and I am pretty happy with the coverage. I drove across the country twice from New York to Las vegas and didn't really have any problems. Of course with my luck the place I decide to live on Jones and 215 there is no signal or hardly at that. I don't understand. There are no big obstructions around as we all know. The cell tower is no more than half a mile from my house. When I spoke to Verizon they didn't believe me becuase of the amount of cell towers that they have in vegas and they just kept telling me to update my phone. Besides this inconvenience I am happy with Verizon

I switched from Sprint to Cingular last year and it was good until the merger happened then when I went to the Cingular store close to my home and not only was the service bad so was the sales associates. So I walked around the building and found a Verizon store located in the same building and said what the heck ported my numbers over and UNBELIEvable coverage. Not a drop call to this day and I am going on 5 months strong thank you Verizon and thank you to the salesperson at the store very knowledgable might I add.
