I have to stay in a certain room in my house just to make calls. When outside in the neighborhood driving or walking, I have to stop to make a call. What's the use of having a cell when you can't use it wherever needed. The sad part is that there is a Verizon Tower not more than 2 miles from my neighborhood and the signal stinks.
I've had Verizon for about 10 years now and when I lived below Nellis Blvd.the reception was awsome and is anywhere in town. When I moved to the area of said school, I get little to no reception as I walk from room to room in my house. Also when I drive or walk around by neighborhood it's spotty at best. Once I get past, east of, Nellis Blvd.I could stay on the phone for hours and never loose the signal or drop the call unless I go back up towards my house. I have called Verizon tons of times during the 5 years I've lived in that area and they say the same thing every time, it's your phone. Well, it's not because my wife has a brand new RAZR and it does it too. There is a site at the top of the hill but for some reason the signal stinks. I thought of buying a repeater for the house but, what about when I'm out in the car or walking the neighborhood. Oh well.
While they told me the reception here is terrific, my phone harldy gets a signal in my house... just down the block from a Sprint store. When I lived in Southern Highlands, the phone didnt get reception there either and again, they said it was a strong reception area. They had me change the roaming to Sprint only and still, calls drop regularly or no reception is found. The web also drops. Been with Sprint 10 years and always had dropped calls and was always told they improved reception... finally, I am done! Too bad they suck so much as I liked the Samsung Instinct :O(
I'm right off vegas and ford, and I get no reception inside or outside my apartment. I love the simply everything plan, but what good is it if I can't even use the phone!?
Had T-Mobile and was paying over 150 for just 700 min! switched to cricket and have always great service! yes there ae going to be dropped calls no wireless carriers are perfect but Cricket is the best should try it!
Lousy freaking reception because AT&T is too cheap to put up more Cell Towers in the neighborhood. We call this area "The Dead Zone" because your AT&T phone is worthless!
Addendum to previous post, T Mobile has a website to view current usage which is great; however, the website seems to be undergoing routine maintenance all the time. It updates rather slowly sometimes and today, it just won't even load at all.
I moved to Las Vegas 2 months ago from Utah. My contract with T Mobile was up a long time ago until I signed up a new contract with a dumb arse boyfriend (who I no longer have) in June 2008 when I was still in Utah. I loved my T Mobile in Utah. I have noticed reception problems all over Las Vegas and the surrounding areas. It gets reception one moment and the next 30 moments it does not. I was talking while on I-15 in a fairly populated area and it dropped the calls over and over and over. The reception in my condo is poor. The reception in casinos is even worse. It's difficult, slow and nearly impossible to check email on the phone. I don't think it's the phone, just the available reception around here. If I wasn't in a contract, I'd try something else for sure.
