I switched from Nextel to Verizon and I hate it! I thought Nextel was bad but I came to find out that the most reliable network really isnt reliable. I get atleast 5 dropped calls a day. I dont use my phone much but when I do, I end up mad at the service. Im switching to Sprint real soon.
With Alltel and Nokia, the coverage has been great in greater Las Vegas and Henderson. When traveling into parts of CA and AZ, friends with Verizon had no service, yet Alltel did. The phone can certainly make a big difference on reception. I think Alltel has great roaming agreements for great coverage.
i luv my Cingular phone I have traveled around the world and across the u.s. and have NEVER had a problem with it. they have great customer care and all the reviews on here are from people who buy cheap phones. p.s. 9 out of 10 times its your phone, not the carrier. so quit bad mouthing my baby. (raising the bar!)
The Cingular reception on my phone is usually pretty good. 4 out of 5 bars inside my apartment (2nd floor). A few dropped calls from time to time, but not any more than what I have experienced with other carriers.
I have had Sprint for many years and through several moves, and was happy for the first several years, but it seems like since the merger with NEXTEL I have noticed a big decline in customer service and in the quality of the coverage.I am now getting dropped calls on a regular basis and they dont seem to care.I am thinking its time to switch.
I have had t-Mobile for 4 1 / 2 years. I signed up in Orlando Florida and Have now recently moved here to Las Vegas. I have had NO dropped calls unless i'm speaking to a Cingular customer and it is always their line, not mine that is the problem. I have excellent coverage and no static. I am very satisfied with my service and am now in the process of buying the Blackberry Pearl as well as signing my mother up for T-Mobile
I've gad Cingiular for a couple of years now, never drop a call. Switched from Sprint, who coined the phrase "Dropped call". Ever since the move, life with a Cell phone has been GREAT. SAME Phone model too.
I was a Sprint customer for 5 years in Virginia and Florida and was happy, but once I arrived in Vegas I had nothing but problems. My signal would go from 4 bars (full strength) to no bars or roaming in the blink of an eye and then go straight back to full strength. Needless to say, this resulted in many dropped calls, and it often took several tries to place a call. And this wasn't just at home (in a developed commercial area right off the freeway) but also at work (Summerlin Centre) and out on the town. I dropped Sprint the day my contract was up!
