No reception in northern parts of Loudonville NY. I'm so glad the do-gooders stopped them from building us a cell tower behind a church. They get reception just fine over there. It's good when ownership of property entitles them to pressure the neighbors out of doing as they please with their own property. And to those people, who thought property values would be effected, you live in dumpy houses anyways, what's it matter if you lose a little nothing. -Tom

My friends have Sprint and Verizon and they have NO Signal... I switched from Nextel and it is the best thing I ever did!

Always 5 strong bars, indoors and out. In the Concourse (underground), they have repeaters set up, so signal strength is still pretty good (a few dead spots, but move 5 paces, and you'll be back in service).

I rarely go below 3 bars in this area. Indoors, outdoors, and even in basements I seem to get a strong and stable signal.

I have never been unable to make or recieve a call with Verizon Wireless. I cancelled my Nextel service and switched to Verizon. I couldn't even call people in my own house with Nextel. I even get reception in the Adirondacks! (Past the usal cut-off of exit 22) I don't think I'll ever get rid of Verizon.

Terrible service on SUNY campus, dropped callas in Crossgates Mall, generally average coverage throughout Albany. Switched from Verizon and regret it.

Static. Many dropped calls. Worse inside buildings than outside. But outside is not good either.

Bad reception outside, none inside. When I can make calls no one can understand me.

Inside buildings I get spotty to no reception. Outside my office I only get two bars and the cell tower is no more than 200 yards from the parking lot! I am not amused!

I'd rate the reception a 5 except that in the middle of a call, reception drops from 5 bars to none and the signal is lost. Anteneas are within sight on the water tower, however, you will have your calls dropped when it gets busy. Forget GPRS data calls after 11:45am, tower gets busy and ignores data connections.

great reception even in the building that I work in which is rare... I love my Nextel

Great reception while outdoors around the Albany area. As soon as you enter a building however reception tends to be poor.

Full bar everywhere I go in Albany including most places in the Capital District. Only places that I don't have a full signal. Troy: just under full. Clifton Park: 3 bars. Inside the mall: 1 bar. Cohoes: 1 bar.

We get little or no reception inside our home (a wood frame house, not a subterranean bomb shelter!). Reception is slightly better out on the street (2 or 3 bars) but signal is choppy and filled with frequent echo and static. We have friends with AT&T that have perfect reception in our house and all over town, so we are switching at the end of the month when our contract with Verizion expires.

Perfect reception inside building too.

Never had a dropped call at this location, the reception is normally good but wavers sometimes.
