I live on the 5th floor, top level and I still get no reception for texting. Texting fails. Sprint has 2 towers 1 for text and 1 for voice data. It seems that when I text always after 6pm text messages don't go thru. All may bars was still up. I even walked outside around the block and texting still fails. "Network Error, try again later" I once had to drive down 3 blocks to get service.... .I'm changing my service to Verizon in March 2011 when my contract is up. I'm tired of this "FisherPrice, "Mickey Mouse" Service!

The voice service is good, but I have major issues with 3G data service. Most of the time it's non existent. I have data on the subway, but when I get to the area I live in, the data disappears. The weird thing is that the phone shows full bars and 3G icon. It's becoming very frustrating!

I've had T-Mobile since 2003. In addition, I had AT&T until 2006, then Verizon from 06-09. AT&T was garbage. Verizon was comparable, but very expensive. I love TM. I live in the Brons and it doesn't work in my front hallway, but to be fair, I have friends with Verizon and AT&T and their phones don't work there either. I have service consistenly on the 6 from my stop at Buhre down to Hunts Point. Yes, in the tunnel. I work in grand central and get service all over except down on the lower level platforms, but even our portable radios are shoddy down there. I'm extremely happy with my service, but I think it depends on your phone. My friend hated TM until he got the Samsung Galaxy and now he has 4G practically everywhere.

I've had very very poor reception if none at all in my apartment. I too miss calls that do not ring go straight into phone mail and I am not aware of either the call that came in or the message that was left, unless I PICK UP THE PHONE TO MAKE CALLS! I've been with Sprint over 10 yrs, this fall / 2011 will definately change carriers! oh and I have tried many many times to get this resolved to no avail! my friends even question why I continue with sprint! FALL / 2011!

The signals are too strong. I feel like a dentist's drill is boring into my teeth and ears... at several pitches, driving me insane. Where can I go to live where I can escape this? It's constant since they put in the Fios Wiring in our condo complex for wireless. One doctor had to quit his job in an emergency room, it was so wired - he couldn't take it. I can't take this. I don't want to move somewhere and have them put in a tower right after I get there... I won't be able to afford to move again. The signals are so strong it's giving me pain in my head. Three of them at different pitches and textures and wave lengths. And I'm not even anywhere near my cell phone or using it.

I reside in the Bronx and work in Long Island. I have traveled on the LIRR into Penn Station and never had a dropped call while travelling through the tunnel into NYC. I have traveled through the Mid-Town Tunnel and never had a dropped call; amazing! I have had conversations in office buildings lower level cafeteria's and never had a dropped call to date. I have traveled out east on the LIE and quess what? No dropped calls. Again, amazing! Not true for my old carrier, AT&T. My phone did not work through any of the above. I have been a Verizon customer for 8 years and never switched for the sake of the iPhone which doesn't even carry Adobe Flash Player; not even with Verizon. Well maybe eventually, or maybe with BlackBerry which I gave up for the Droid. Amazing features, this new Android system!

My phone has never worked properly. Sometimes it doesn't ring. It also fails to indicate I have voicemail or text messages. I've missed important calls because people call me ten times and I'm sitting right next to the phone but it doesn't ring. Sprint customer service doesn't even care. I've been with them over ten years and since I've been in Co Op Cit it's been awful. I'm changing providers. They troubleshoot and it works for one day only then they want to charge $35 to look at the phone. Sprint sucks!

Generally good reception in most places except my home. A lot of dropped calls. Have to move around the house looking for decent reception and people complain that I come in choppy. I had a similar problem with a Sprint Motorola Q, but the Pre is much worse.

I would really love the iphone on a Sprint network, but anyway. I have been with Sprint for the past 5 years and for the most part I have been happy with its service. The service works about anywhere I go. Works in elevator shafts my cellphone recieves calls when i'm in a basement thats 30 feet underground. My phone works underground in some subway stations most notably on the upper lexington avenue lines and on the upper seven avenue broadway lines. 3 years ago I went fishing out in the atlantic ocean I would say I was about a good 12-15 miles away from the city and I only had one bar reception with my Sprint cell phone which is pretty darn good for being so far away from a cell phone tower while everyone else on the boat had t mobile or Verizon and had no service at all. If the boat was sinking at least I can make a phone call and make my goodbyes or even call 911 to bad that wont happen on a iphone or G1. Even though sprints phone sucks its service and its call quality does not. As a consumer do you want a good product with cheap crappy service or do you want a crappy product with excellent service? The choice is up to you!

First I thought it was the Razr (my old phone), now I know it's everything. Never get higher than 2 bars, all calls have to take place on speaker because sometimes I have to rotate the phone around a full 360 in order to scare up even one bar (and it will move up and down the bar scale randomly whether I move the phone or not). Pre-checking before selecting a carrier would have done no good, because a search through the T-Mobile link provided herein shows nothing but "best" reception coverage for approximately my surrounding 10-mile radius. Is a complete and total lie. Should read "poor" for everywhere in the borough. At least when I get the calls to go through they do not drop, but that is small comfort. Best part of all, not a block away is a T-Mobile store. I wonder how they manage to sell anything.

I HATE my Sprint service in my apartment. I have a monthly Sprint phone and a prepaid T-Mobile phone and for some reason I only get reception in about 5 spots in my apartment. But on my Prepaid T-Mobile phone I ALWAYS have reception (too bad its prepaid! LOL) SO yeah I guess I am going to have to cut off my Sprint service and get a monthly TMobile phone. I am so tired of having to run to the areas in my apartment that I get good reception in. Even while I am laying in my bed I have to run across the room to the window so the call wont drop out of no where..

If you don't have a phone with HOT SPOT Wi Fi you won't have any reception throughout the building and until you move away from the area. Even with HOT SPOT Wi Fi I had dropped calls.

Service really stinks. I wanted to upgrade to another phone to test but was afraid that would be no improvement. I can't get any service sitting on my own couch even when I rotate the phone 360 degrees slowly. Some days I cannot even get 2 bars of service on a full charge. Ironically, there is a new T-Mobile store less than 200 feet from my apartment - guess demos there must be real impressive. I had worse service with Sprint, though.

Perfect Reception in my apartment friends are amazed then I let them know that the T-Mobile cell tower is 30 feet away on my buildings roof and I live on top floor. Been with them for 7 years and they improve coverage every year. I used to get a lot of dead spots when I first had them but now there are less dead spots and the voice quality has improved. The one thing I did notice is when I got a free phone at the start reception was less then when I bought a mid range phone it received better reception. Since then I get a mid range or better phone.

horrible... every few days I am not able to make calls, today I can't make OR receive calls, and the tech support don't know anything much... . for some reason it seems that i'm roaming, the network keeps switching and the guys at T-Mobile have no clue why this is happening... I think this provider should NOT be used in NY. i'm gonna start checking new providers... it's just not worth the headache.
