1 bar in my neighborhood 3 on a good day. If I'm not on wifi I can't do anything. Calls drop, data is slow. I wish they would stop bragging about how good their service is on tv.

Bars show on my screen, but reception is spotty. Looking at the map of antennas, I can see why! There are very few locations beyond Park Slope. I am done with ATT, after 12 years and three phones. I cannot imagine why anyone would buy a smartphone and use ATT service. Enough, already!

Downtown Brooklyn, a place with 2.2 million people, and no service. Regularly, I have four to five bars but, between Third Ave and Fifth Ave, from at least Bergen St.to Schermerhorn Street, no data service and constant dropped calls-- if any calls get through in the first place. Buying the iPhone 4s and will NOT be sticking with AT&T.

About two months ago, I finally made the switch from my 10+ year old T-Mobile phone (battery lasted almost two weeks, never dropped a single call) to one of the newest-latest when I realized I need Google Maps. How AT&T can even call itself a phone carrier, in the largest city in this country, is an outrage. I do not get reception in my house. On the top floor. With windows on all sides. And a skylight. AND THREE BARS. No incoming, no outgoing, messages come back hours later with the little "yield sign" telling me they were never sent. One day, after driving down to Red Hook and Ikea all day, I had four voicemails pop up around 8pm, FROM THE DAY BEFORE. I cannot get off this network soon enough. Shame on you, AT&T, sending me a "replacement" (read: refurb) phone, telling me "towers are down and being repaired" and so on and so forth. This is the largest city in the country. Get your act together, or charge less, or both, because you're going to lose as many customers as I can get in touch with... on a different network, believe you me. Sick.

The service at my house is almost nonexistent with average of 2 bars at most. My office in Long Island City is even worse. My coworkers and I often have to go outside to even place a call as the phone is unable to get a signal and complete any calls. I am not even sure how to explain and validate to AT&T that the two places I spend 90% of my time in have no cellular service. How long AT&T can get away with this?

I am so sick of the AT&T iphone situation in Greenpoint. It's isolating and infuriating. I've had an iphone for 3 years living in Manhattan with no problems. I just bought the new one right before moving to Greenpoint and now feel like I've been robbed. Nothing could be worse than this. I will try to call 10 times before a call will go through just for it to get dropped another 5 times within a 10 minute conversation. Hardly anyone's calls come through. I get voice messages hours later. I've contacted AT&T at least half a dozen times to complain and the customer service is always polite and apologetic but worthless. I'm through. Anyone want a brand new, piece of s#!t iphone?

I used to have Verizon. Rarely had a problem with reception or dropped calls. I went to AT&T due to the iPhone. Works OK in lower Manhattan (most of the time) where I work, but at home in Greenpoint, my phone will constantly fluctuate the number of bars and even with 4 bars, I'll get call attempt failures and dropped calls. Outdoors is as bad as indoors. Sometimes people will call me and it will go straight to voicemail and I'll get the voicemail hours later.

lots of dropped calls, even with all bars. on the phone right now with Cust Service, and so far they seemd to be doing a good job. gave me $50 credit and are filing a report and such. Says there are a lot of degraded towers and my phone is roaming on other non-at&t towers.

We spend most of our time on the front stoop while on our cell phones. Reception in our house is miserable and dropped calls abound frequently.

After a few months with decent service AT&T has been Horrible in the area dropping calls all the time, towers are either degraded or need service all the time. AT&T now tries to blame the antenna on the iPhone 4 but it's clearly the network that is very poor. Waiting for the Verizon iphone... ..

Can't make a call at all from Flushing Ave. all the way up the hill until I get home at Fulton. Then I've spent hours today trying to connect to a couple of critical calls from inside my own apartment. Sheesh. And it wasn't that long ago when a land line was expected to be as clear and reliable as speaking face to face. Why is a cell phone system better again?!?
