Sprint reception in the 11216 area around Halsey St.and Arlington Place is NO RECEPTION to POOR. I have lost several calls while talking also if there are no signals the calls will not go through so the cell phone will not ring. I also have a Sprint Smartcard to gain access to the internet... .need I say the reception for the Smartcard is the poorest. If there is no service the signal percentage will say 10 percent which is not enough to view anything. Pages will constantly load not at all or slowly. I have been constantly knocked off line. Sprint service is lously! When I contact Customer Service or Advanced Technical Support I am always being told that Sprint is putting up new towers so the signal should be strong once this happens. Will its been over a year and still the signal is a hot mess. I'm paying for service that I do not receive. When I spoke to Advance Technical Support I was told I could speak to a manager, after waiting on the phone for a little over 15 minutes the call was lost and no one called me back. Someone should have called because I stated to the tech that my poor to none reception was causing dropped calls. Again, Sprint service is LOUSLY! No one at Sprint shows any interest in getting this problem solved but have a bill due and Sprint will text, email you to get what is do to Sprint. I we use service and do not pay it called Theft of Service... what it called when we customers pay and we get no service???ANOTHER UNHAPPY PREMIERE CUSTOMER.

I used to have Verizon. Rarely had a problem with reception or dropped calls. I went to AT&T due to the iPhone. Works OK in lower Manhattan (most of the time) where I work, but at home in Greenpoint, my phone will constantly fluctuate the number of bars and even with 4 bars, I'll get call attempt failures and dropped calls. Outdoors is as bad as indoors. Sometimes people will call me and it will go straight to voicemail and I'll get the voicemail hours later.

Blackberry Boost which is CDMA On The Sprint Network, works fine, 4 bars most times if not 5, it's not perfect, but impressive and very tetherable ;) sure its only 3g but so what, it's on a non contact basis. Beats dialup.

lots of dropped calls, even with all bars. on the phone right now with Cust Service, and so far they seemd to be doing a good job. gave me $50 credit and are filing a report and such. Says there are a lot of degraded towers and my phone is roaming on other non-at&t towers.

Many dropped calls in Park Slope and Gowanus. Mediocre reception (at best) walking around town and in my apartment, which is near Prospect Park and thus, up high. Have never gotten more than 2 bars.

We spend most of our time on the front stoop while on our cell phones. Reception in our house is miserable and dropped calls abound frequently.

Both in Crown Heights and at my previous apartment in Bushwick, I got zero reception with Verizon--when the phone actually rings, it's been rare in either location that I can actually pick up the call or get past a greeting before the call is dropped. Currently, I'm at the top of a hill with absolutely no tall buildings around and plenty of open space. Still no reception. My roommates, who have TMobile and AT&T have absolutely no problems with reception.

After a few months with decent service AT&T has been Horrible in the area dropping calls all the time, towers are either degraded or need service all the time. AT&T now tries to blame the antenna on the iPhone 4 but it's clearly the network that is very poor. Waiting for the Verizon iphone... ..

Verizon has been my exclusive phone carrier in NYC for a year and I have never had a dropped call or undelivered text message. I live in Greenpoint Brooklyn (Manhattan Ave and Norman Ave) and work in Brooklyn Heights (Courst St. and Joralemon St). I ALWAYS (no exaggeration) have a strong clear signal both indoors and outdoors.

Had T-Mobile for 5 years and its been perfect. Until they upgraded their service to 3G. Now I can't even receive calls while I'm in my house. Every call gets dropped and I receive texts and messages three hours later.

Great service with Verizon! Switched from AT&T because of all the drop calls. The data was extreamly slow on AT&T too. I love my Droid. Did the buy one get one free thing. Got 2 Motorola Droid, 2 Storm 2s, and a Curve 2. Excited about the Skype 3G app next month on Verizon too. If you are having problems with AT&T which most people do here, try out Verizon. It's worth it! Coming from the iPhone? Try the Droid by Motorola.

I live on Columbia Heights in Brooklyn Heights. From about mid way from Hicks St.towards Columbia Heights, on Montague, Pierpont, or Clark and then all through Columbia Heights calls are dropped signal is no good at all. When I'm in my apt on Columbia Heights (it's a floor through) my phone will only work in the Living Room which is facing the Promenade. The part that is on Columbia I cannot get a signal, it drops.
