Inexplicably will have a full signal for days and then the signal completely disappears and you have a phone that functions as a paperweight. Comes and goes like somebody at the fire station keeps tripping over the relay tower power cord and unplugging it. Ridiculously inconsistent service.

I've had T Mobile for years and have never understood why anyone in Brooklyn would say it was a bad service UNTIL I went to Carroll Gardens today with my new G1. I got off the train at Carroll St.and walked all the way up to Bergen and over to Hoyt to meet a friend. I said, "Dude, I think my G1 is busted, and I just got it". He explained that no one on T Mobile gets service in Carroll Gardens or Boreum Hill. How is that possible? Is the government testing microwaves on the population there or something?

Very poor reception in the area bounded by DeKalb Ave to Myrtle Ave and Washington Park to Vanderbilt with plenty of areas of spotty reception in the Ft. Greene area. Overall, I am extremely unsatisfied with the Verizon reception in this area. I am routinely unable to make or sustain calls from within my home regardless of where I am positioned- by a window, etc.

I'm lucky if I get 1 bar in our second floor apartment. I called T-Mobile today and was told they're installing a new tower in the area. Somehow I don't think it's going to help. I think that if we get enought people to complain, they will have to allow customers to switch to another provider without paying early termination fees.

Very good reception in the Flatlands area. Occasional dropped calls. Fairly good service indoors on first floor of brick buildings - usually drops to about 3 bars from 5 outdoors.

ATT is terrible in NYC and especially in Brooklyn (at least this part of Brooklyn). And then they did an auto-pay on the day before I set up the payment and cost me an overcharge... and they won'y make good on it. Mny times in my apartment I have 0 bars. I dial numbers an it doesn't do anything but go beep beep bbep and return to the main screen. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE

In early 2008 T-Mobile installed a new antenna in the neighborhood, and since then I get a strong 4 bars at home on their service. As of yet they are the only carrier I have found who provides a strong signal in my corner of Fort Greene. Until then, I got only a weak signal at home, not just on T-Mobile but also on every other carrier I tried -- sprint, verizon, and at&t. AT&T still provides only an unacceptably poor signal. I am not sure about the others. But I am really happy with the new T-Mobile antenna. Their service went from bad to great.

I get 4 bars on the sidewalk, but as soon as I step into my brownstone it falls to 3, becoming 2 bars in my apartment. But you don't get much with those 2 bars. The reception is not good enough to carry on a conversation. Half of the conversation drops intermittently. I live on the ground floor in the back of a brick rowhouse, which helps explain why my signal is so much weaker than it is on the sidewalk. And I have seen the same problem with most other carriers. But T-Mobile works much better. In early 2008 they installed a new antenna in the neighborhood, and since then I get a strong 4 bars at home on their service. As of yet they are the only carrier I have found who provides a strong signal in my corner of Fort Greene. AT&T still does not.

A waste of time and money. The service is almost criminally bad and somebody should be sued for taking ridiculous amounts of money off trusting customers for worse than sub standard service. Surely in America, today, this should not exist. I would urge anyone on T-Mobile to jump to a different provider whoever they might be!

Very, very spotty in my house--wife and self. Symbol and number of bars changes every 30 secs or so. Also--messages / voicemail shows up in sporadic bursts. I often must walk down to the end of the block and lean against a barroom wall to get reception. My son's Verizon phone works perfectly in the same house!
