Whenever I see the gigantic, orange Cingular billboard advertising "No Dropped Calls" right outsite my window, I feel like Cingular is taunting me. 10 out of 10 times my calls drop or I can't even dial out--in my apartment! I don't like standing outside in the f***ing cold to make a call. The service reps have no sympathy for my situation--even when calls are dropped as I'm talking to them! And I'm locked in until 2008. There seems to be a lot of us out there. All of us Cingular sufferers need to somehow band together...

611 and tech support are worthless. Voice mail indicator often doesn't work. Messages pile up until there is suddenly a message saying there are 7 new voice messages, the first being 18 hours earlier. Tech support inputs a voice mail. I get the indicator. They say "Hey, it works." They say "if this happens again, call us". then they will test it, it will work, they will say "Hey, it works. If it... ".

The reception bars are plain inaccurate. The phone might display 4 to 5 bars but the calls always drop, the other end can't hear me, I can't hear the other end, volume is very low, and nothing really works. Cingular in Brooklyn Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Dumbo, Ft. Greene is horrible.

This block has been a major dead zone on my phone since I switched to T-Mobile over a year ago. I can't make a call when I get out of the subway at 2nd and Smith until I get to Court St.

My service goes in and out. Even when I am outstanding of my house. I think Nextel needs to consider to add there tower somewhere in this area.

when I do get reception, there's an annoying buzzing noise that both I and the caller can hear. I also can anticipate my phone ringing by the noise speakers project when both me and my phone are around. craaazy. i've never got good cell phone coverage in any area of Brooklyn I've previously lived: Williamsburg, Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, Fort Greene - with any carrier: cingular, sprint. Can we get some towers coming our way? Thanks for allowing a place to vent, it's much needed...

I can occasionally get one or two bars if I stand with my head out of the window. I live on the garden level of a brownstone. I don't get any reception in the back area of the apartment which faces downtown Brooklyn. I have to leave the phone on the window sill and use my bluetooth in order to make calls. OK but to have to go through the extra steps make having a cellphone less convienent than a landline.

The only problem I have with service is when I call someone in South Hampton, NY and calls drop. They have Verizon and it only happens with that call. I have another friend who has Verizon and I talk to him and no dropped call. Perhaps service in South Hampton sucks.

I get full bars in my house at Ave O and E 15. Basement reception is spotty (0 - 2 bars out of 4). Recently been getting some calls where they hear me but I can't hear them, this may be due to the fact that I was in my basement at the time.

I had a Motorola dual speaker... great until it broke. I now have a samsung. I'm satisfied with the phone but cingular's service downtown brooklyn, especially on South elliot place and around Brooklyn Technical High school is dreadful. I cannot get phone calls inside the high school, but people that have Verizon and T-Mobile can... what's the deal?

For about the last 3 to 4 weeks I have had horrible issues about calling out. Even at a window with 4 or 5 bars showing it will say calling, I wait... .. and finnally it gives an 'out of service' noise to me for out going calls. Incomming calls are also rather unreliable it will not ring when the person is calling but will then give me the signal noise that a voice mail has been left. I have had this phone for about 3 months and only had minor problems of making calls in the house. Now, most of the time even standing outside on the edge of Ocean Pkwy. I still can't make a successful call. Usually I can make an out going call on while on Ditmas ave and generally dont have trouble walking half way down the block on Ocean Pkwy. Blvd.(where the house is) once I had already dialed about a block or 2 away from Ocean Pkwy. on Ditmas ave. This has been recent (begining in the last month). My boyfriend also has cigular both phone are on same account but he has a different model than I. He does not have as many issues and can always call out from the house near the windows. And has no trouble outside the house. He only breaks up when he walks thru the house away from the back windows. It has been driving me crazy. I thought it was the weather when it first started but now it is an every day issue.

From Court St.to Hicks there is no service (anywhere from liqueur st to drgraw st). Inside my apartment it seems to work OK but terrible elsewhere in Carroll Gardens, or Boreon / Clinton Hills. I would not recommend Tmobile. My roomates seem to do better with Verizon so I am leaning towards trying that over cingular

Reception sucks in my apartment (brownstone). I get one bar. the reception is choppy and distorted. I have to go outside to get decent reception. Zero reception in the basement and in the middle of the apartment. I used to get good reception not too far away in Prospect Heights area. (4-5 bars). I think it might be time to switch.

Reception in my office building (499 Van Brunt) is non-existing. If I want to make a phone call, I need to exit the building and position myself at a certain spot, to get 1 bar. Subscribers of Nextel and Verizon walk throughout the building with no problems. If things do not improve within a year, I will switch carriers.

The phone is useless from hicks and union street up till about court street. That's when a may or may not get a single bar. Come on! this is a big community in a major city not the poconos, where I might add I get slightly better reception.
