Okay reception on the street, but the reception inside is shoddy at best. Even with the phone on the window sill, most calls don't go through. Those that do go through sound as if the person is underwater.

Sprint really sucks at getting reception inside my house here. In the basement I miss calls all the time but I get the voicemail alert. Sometimes I can be out and completely lose reception while I am standing in an open area... And do not get me started on their customer service when you ask them to fix this for you...

With the Sidekick platform you have 2 kinds of reception to worry about - Phone Signal and Data Signal. I get perfect reception for both signals. Strong reception in my building and surrounding areas. I couldn't be more satisfied.

My Verizon Wireless Service gives me nothing but trouble when I am in or around a house in Victorian Flatbush. On the first floor and in the basement, I have next to no service, the phone may ring, but a call can never actually connect. On the second floor, I can eeck out a signal if I find a good spot and stand as stiff as a board during the call; that is unless it rains then all bets are off. I have resorted to sitting in my car on the curb to get a signal. I have spent evenings standing on my bed next to a window to keep a decent signal, and by that I mean ten minutes between dropped calls. I thought it was just me, but every member of my family that has Verizon Wireless experiences the same problem. Verizon told me to do *228 to reset my signal, but that is almost useless. What is even more embarrassing is that my family members who stayed with Sprint after I left for Verizon and those with Nextel get perfect service all over the house and the street in front.

T-Mobile has the lamest coverage in the city. Outside of Manhattan (i.e. Brooklyn) there's practically none at all. In my apartment--2nd floor, prewar building--I'm lucky if I get one bar. The calls are dropped constantly, assuming I even get through, and voice quality is about as bad as it gets. I've had T-Mobile since before I moved to Brooklyn three years ago, and the only reason I stuck with them as long as I have is the $19.99 plan (I hardly use the phone during the week) but I'm beginning to think it's time to change, even if it means paying more. Maybe if everybody switch to Cingular (or whatever) T-Mobile will get the message.

It's pretty good in my apartment. Outdoor reception is good until I get farther east near Flushing Av / Bogart St. and the Morgan St. stop on the L. It's been unreliable in the past but the reception has improved in the last month or so.

Zero reception from T-Mobile on Columbia Heights (next to the Promenade). Some customer support reps claim tower issues and that "it's being worked on" but I wouldn't trust that...

Recently left Verizon and ported over to T-Mobile and I couldn't be happier. For the few places I don't get reception where I got reception with Verizon is fine for me because T-Mobile has reception in alot of places where Verizon doesn't. The clarity is excellent and reception is almost always 5 bars even though I know bars mean nothing. No one ever thinks I am on my cell phone when I talk to them.

Very shoddy service from Nextel here, and seems like it's gotten gradually worse over the last couple of years. Complaints to them do nothing to improve the situation. I'm shopping for a new carrier.
