5 bars most times indoors, very occasionally 4. Have yet to use phone more than a half-mile away, so it may just be that I'm located close to a tower.

Verizon has been my exclusive phone carrier in NYC for a year and I have never had a dropped call or undelivered text message. I live in Greenpoint Brooklyn (Manhattan Ave and Norman Ave) and work in Brooklyn Heights (Courst St. and Joralemon St). I ALWAYS (no exaggeration) have a strong clear signal both indoors and outdoors.

Great service with Verizon! Switched from AT&T because of all the drop calls. The data was extreamly slow on AT&T too. I love my Droid. Did the buy one get one free thing. Got 2 Motorola Droid, 2 Storm 2s, and a Curve 2. Excited about the Skype 3G app next month on Verizon too. If you are having problems with AT&T which most people do here, try out Verizon. It's worth it! Coming from the iPhone? Try the Droid by Motorola.

After leaving At&T for sprint, I came back to get the Iphone the service is great in this area as well in most of southern brooklyn and queens. ATT came a long way since 2005.

In early 2008 T-Mobile installed a new antenna in the neighborhood, and since then I get a strong 4 bars at home on their service. As of yet they are the only carrier I have found who provides a strong signal in my corner of Fort Greene. Until then, I got only a weak signal at home, not just on T-Mobile but also on every other carrier I tried -- sprint, verizon, and at&t. AT&T still provides only an unacceptably poor signal. I am not sure about the others. But I am really happy with the new T-Mobile antenna. Their service went from bad to great.

I've been on A&T since they switched over to GSM and I can say that all the acquisitions have really helped seal the deal, I extended my contract for another 2 yrs last winter... i get great reception just about everywhere... and I travel all over the US

Great reception always. When we go into buildings, my friends who have Verizon have to go near windows for service. Not me!

My service with T-Mobile is fine. I've never had any problems with dropped calls or no reception. I have perfect service at home which I need since I don't have a landline.

I've always had great reception also text and emailing with no problems. Customer service personnel were always professional. I've had AT&T and Verizon but I will never go back.

Sometimes even with 5 bars I get complaints from the person that I'm calling that theres a lot of distortion. Never get a signal in the subway or in a store. Great coverage in Manhattan and in Florida. Sales staff very unhelpful - just interested in the sale. If coverage doesn't improve am considering T-Mobile or Verizon next time.

tmobile is the best ever, I always get service! not one call dropped! with Cingular they are horrible, my calls dropped, well for now I had T-Mobile for 4years and no calls dropped what so ever, you make the decision which one is good?

The only problem I have with service is when I call someone in South Hampton, NY and calls drop. They have Verizon and it only happens with that call. I have another friend who has Verizon and I talk to him and no dropped call. Perhaps service in South Hampton sucks.

I get full bars in my house at Ave O and E 15. Basement reception is spotty (0 - 2 bars out of 4). Recently been getting some calls where they hear me but I can't hear them, this may be due to the fact that I was in my basement at the time.
